Annabel Sullivan divorced her unfaithful, controlling husband. Together, they owned A. & A. Sullivan Designs, an interior design firm. When the marriage ended so did the business. During her marriage she'd learned to give an appearance of always being in control of her emotions. Her cool, calm appearance is an illusion that Jason O'Brien would delight in unveiling.
Jason O'Brien is the CEO of Futex, Inc. He'd considered doing business with A. & A. Sullivan Designs. In fact, he was meeting with Andrew when the final showdown in Annabel's marriage took place. Jason was immediately attracted to Annabel but she was married at the time. He couldn't help wondering if she'd be as unflappable in bed as she is in the face of her husband and his mistress, or if he'd be able to draw out her inner vixen.
Two years after her divorce, Annabel is living in Atlanta. She'd left her old life, friends, home, everything and started anew. She is now a partner in Artful Illusions, an interior design company that is run by all women. She had hoped never to see Jason again. He'd been a witness to her husband's infidelity, a piece of her past that she'd hoped to leave behind her when she'd moved. Artful Illusions has been contracted with Futex for the past six months, so far she's managed to avoid running into Jason. However, her luck has run out when purely by chance, he happens to be eating lunch at the same restaurant and overhears the Artful Illusions partners' topic of choice - Annabel's lack of a sex life. Now that she's single and he knows where to find her, he can launch an all-out attack to ensure Annabel gives in to both of their desires. Annabel knows that Jason is out of her league. He's dangerous to her self-control. If Jason truly wants her, he's going to have to work a lot harder than he imagined.
Jayelle Drewry's WAKING ANNABEL is a thrilling story about a woman who reinvents herself after an ugly divorce. Annabel is a character I adored. She not only catches her husband cheating, but the way she lets him know that he's been caught without making a huge scene is just awesome. She's a strong woman with long hidden desires that Jason longs to explore. Jason's pursuit of Annabel is very funny. Nothing works until he turns up the heat and exerts a bit of his dominance. This is a wonderful heart-touching story that readers will enjoy reading many times over.
