Miss the good 'ole days or get a taste of the service November 17, 2007 C. P. Lewis (Raymore, MO) Outstanding quality from some of the old school cadences. I only wish I had been able to listen to this before I went to Boot Camp...I ended up being one of the cadence callers at Great Lakes in 1995 while going through Boot and they didn't give us any calls, we had to make up our own. Bought the tape version shortly after Boot Camp and have wore it out! Outstanding running companion! If you're a fan or veteran of the Navy, you'll love it.
Very motivating, fun to listen to June 15, 2007 Derek Freeman (Ellicott City, MD United States) Listening to this brings back memories... I didn't say good memories, just memories. Running sucks but this CD makes it bearable. This definitely has many of the classic cadences, I'd like to hear some of them updated, though - How long ago were Momar, Charlie, and Ivan threats? How about Saddam, Osama, and Mahmoud?
The CD is heavy on the SEAL and Flight school cadences, but if you've ever been in the Navy you will recognize them and enjoy this CD.

Cadence format is fun and motivational! August 2, 2005 Navy dad 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Originally bought this as a novelty to prepare for my first 5k run and to share some of the boot camp experience my son recently went through at Great Lakes (Navy Recruit Division Command). In short order, I found playing the CD on the treadmill helped my pace and took my mind off any tendency to feel discomfort with the fun and distracting lyrics. While I can't find any reference to the technical credits, the recordings (there are more than 30 separate cadences in sequence) sound as if they were made right on the PT (physical training) field -- one even has a dramatic jet flyover! The only minor caution is that your "left-right" sequence for one cadence might be slightly "out of step" when the next one kicks in! I recommend this format completely -- pick your military branch of choice, get the cadence CD and prepare to be entertained, inspired and physically fit. It has a permanent place in my gym bag.
Your running need a boost? BUY this CD!! April 15, 2003 Amy Berger (Staten Island, NY United States) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This CD is awesome! I've been running for years, but have always been on the slow side. Let me tell you - these cadences really got me moving, and the best part is, they keep me going at a steady pace. When I feel like slowing down, it's too bad, because I gotta keep up with the Navy! It'll do the same for you. The excitement in their voices is great and gets me into the groove every time, and once I'm in that groove, I don't pay attention to the pain/tiredness/sound of my breathing hard. It's all about having a great run.
