From the supplier: The role of ethos in professional writing within the US Navy is investigated. The rhetorical concept, which was first introduced by Aristotle as 'one of the three prime means of persuasion, appears to be present in different naval applications. These include naval personnel evaluations and ship repair reports. However, it remains a hidden presence within the naval community. This, as the Tailhook incidence showed, sometimes leads to questions concerning its credibility.
