This is the most beautiful bible I have ever seen. I purchased this for my daughter's 25th wedding anniversary gift. It is everything that I was looking for and I have been looking for a while. The silver edging makes it a perfect wedding or anniversary gift. I know my daughter will love it as much as I do. I'm tempted to buy one for myself after reading through it although I own my own family bible. I love the bigger type and the beautiful illustrations. It has a family record section to record 4 generations of family history which is not found in many books. I would highly recommend this bible for its beauty and the price is fantastic as always when buying from Amazon.

Just quickly - the Bible is beautiful - the white leater so impressive. The text is written clearly and easy to understand. I gave it to my granddaughter for her Confirmation present; I'm sure she probably doesn't really appreciate it now - but I know she'll cherish it in the future.

Exactly why the Freemasons would have a Catholic Bible at their lodge is a bit of a mystery to me. Perhaps the prior review here was just one of those Catholic insider jokes? The Mason's review notwithstanding, I've seen this edition before, and it would make a fine addition to anyone's collection.

This bible has great explanations of various phrases and I have been using it as a great Shower Present -- looks great on a coffee table and is therefore very handy to read and review subjects - rather than a bible that is "stuck away" in a drawer
