Product Description Gong Yoga is a comprehensive book on practicing and teaching yoga with the sound of the gong. You will learn about the origin, history and use of the gong for yoga and meditation as well as its current therapeutic applications for healing and transformation. The book contains a step-by-step training guide to teach yourself how to play the gong through a series of practice sessions. You will learn the basic techniques to play the gong effectively as well as more advanced techniques to create your own personalized gong playing routines. You will also learn how to structure yoga classes and individual practices using the gong as well as how to develop gong yoga therapy sessions for your students and professional clients. A comprehensive chapter on Yoga and the Gong describes the chakras, the major energy channels of the body (the nadis), and the five sheaths of existence (the koshas), that are key to understanding how the gong integrates with the practice of yoga. Special sections explain the use of Kundalini Yoga mantras for playing the gong, how to select and care for your gong and additional resources to develop your skills.

Affinity...Gong!...Infinity August 25, 2008 Mary Vaughan (Austin, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OK, so I come to this book with a bit of a bias....I adore the gong! I always have and always will. Still...my God...someone has written a book about all of those things I intuited about the gong but could not find the words for! Yes, Mehtab's book covers all of the Beauty the gong has to share with us: relaxation, releasing, healing, astral traveling :), transformation and so much more, and is written in the voice of clarity and effortless humor that is so much Mehtab Benton. I encourage all to read this book, refer to this book for the rest of your gonging journey and, most of all, to actually experience the Gong and its benefits with Mehtab if you are ever visiting the lovely Austin, Texas! I give this book 5 stars, because it's one of those books that as a yoga teacher I will refer to for the rest of my life. It stands next to my copy of the Bhagavad Gita and Tantra: The Path of Ecstasy by Georg Feuerstein. Thank you, Mehtab and Yogi Bhajan! Sat Nam
Gong Yoga: Healing and Enlightenment Through Sound July 31, 2008 R. Farley (Midland, Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
An excellent and one of the very few books written about this Ancient Vibrational Healing Technique. For anyone that would like a general education about the Gong. Includes information about caring for, transporting, and setting up the Gong. Basic playing strokes are also clearly described and pictured. This book will inspire you to seek this form of healing in your life.
