Product Description
Here are the facts: The United States has released 425 terrorists from Guantanamo, at least 50 of whom have returned to the battlefield to fight our troops. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both say they're fiscally responsible. But each has called for $1 trillion in tax increases over the next ten years—and dressed them up as tax cuts! Mainstream Media has been given marching orders from the Society of Professional Journalists: never refer to "Islamic terrorists" or "Muslim terrorists." And they are obeying! Whenever our brave agents disrupt a terror plot, The media dismisses the culprits as a gang of idiots—lulling us into a false sense of security. If the liberals win the 2008 election, they will cripple talk radio—forcing stations to give equal time to left-wing programs, and insisting that liberals play a key role in station management. Up to a quarter of all state pension funds in the United States are invested in companies that are helping Iran, Syria, North Korea, or the Sudan—for a total of nearly $200 billion. The Do-Nothing Congress is still doing nothing—and the worst offenders are the presidential candidates Clinton, Obama, and McCain, who never show up for their day jobs as senators . . . except to pick up their $165,000 paycheck! Is it any wonder that Americans feel fleeced at every turn? As more and more critical problems develop that need national attention, the White House and Congress appear to be AWOL. Who's calling the shots instead? Big business, big government, big labor, and big lobbyists. And their self-serving agendas are doing nothing to help the ever-increasing number of American people who are losing their homes, paying credit card interest rates higher than 25 percent, and finding their jobs increasingly outsourced to foreign countries. In this hard-hitting call to arms, Dick Morris and Eileen McGann reveal the hundreds of ways American tax-payers are routinely fleeced—by our own government; by foreign countries like Dubai that are gobbling up American interests and spending millions to influence government decisions and American public opinion; by Washington lobbying firms that are pushing the agendas of corrupt foreign dictators on Capitol Hill; and by hedge-fund billionaires collecting huge tax breaks courtesy of the IRS. With their characteristic blend of sharp analysis and insider insight, Morris and McGann call offenders of all kinds on the carpet—and offer practical agendas we all can follow to help turn the tide.

Everyone should read this well written book. It is highly enlightening! People need to wake up, get educated. We are so much like a bunch of dung beetles, keeping our noses to the ground and rolling, rolling the ball not really knowing anything more than our own little pile of dung! I am grateful to people like Dick Morris for putting in the time and effort to educate us all!

Dick has revealed so much new information on what has and is happening behind the scenes in Washington. This book should have been written years ago! ** From an American hero in the lower 48' an urgent call went out to the governor of a far northern state, "Our country needs a great VP, will this position you fill?" A quick answer came back from the governor of a state known for its Permafrost, "Yes, I will." The two stood in unison, one a Vietnam vet, the other a soccer mom, known for her true grit. A campaign was raging, one to decide the vote. Would it go to a man of courage, or to one known for his association with those who support violent revolt? The American people watched as this new VP candidate took the stage, "Who is she, what does she stand for? For our troubled country can she turn a new page?" Without a moments hesitation Sarah went into battle, challenged by a biased press. After all, they said, "She's a woman and even wears a dress." To defeat the accusations, many of them morally sick, she countered with a question, "What's the difference between a soccer mom and a Pit bull? Lipstick!" Mainstream media still refused to accept her as a viable VP choice, using lies and innuendos in an attempt to silence her voice. Her chance to prove them wrong came with a vice-presidential debate. A nation watched with apprehension as she spoke with surety and articulateness, giving intense support to her running mate. History will reflect how effective she was. However, this much we know we need more Sarah Palins'. Moreover, yes, she has proven Alaska has more to offer than ice and snow. Written by, Richard Neal Huffman Saint Joseph, Michigan, USA. Dick Morris pointed out a lot of problems that needed to changed in this country. My take is John McCain is the one that can get a lot of these changes done.

This may be a shot heard across the world. hear is a man who us a Moderate democrat who is seeking to set the record straight. There is so much hear I don't know where to start; but I will press on, lets start with Guantanamo, and how important it has been in protecting the USA Morris shows us how 50 (plus) of the prisoners who have been released whom have returned to the battlefield to fight our troops. Proving that we have the right people. This doctrine of treating the prisoners as combatants goes back to WW II where after Germany surrendered some German citizens continue to fight us the US in China. Of course most people in the USA don't know this, its not taught in History anymore. Morris goes on to talk about Barack Obama (The DNC's Nominee) and Hillary Clinton (now former presidential contender) both swear they're fiscally responsible. But each has called for $[...] trillion in tax increases over the next ten years, then they have the audacity of hope to claim there cutters. Morris also find the smoking gun of the a press conspiracy to defend the terrorists, he shows how the Mainstream Media is following the lead of the Society of Professional Journalists: who state at their web site that a reporter should never refer to "Islamic terrorists" or "Muslim terrorists. and also to belittle any terror plot that is stopped before it is carried out, by defining the people as inapt etc., this is mocking our law enforcement and is downright dishonest and even dangerous. remember they way they talked about the shoe bomber, if he succeed 100's would of been dead. Morris also talks about how the Liberals (becoming more fascistic) want to shut up conservative talk radio with the so called fairness's doctrine, the liberals hate free speech. Just lie their fascists predecessors. Morris does not just take on Liberals he shows how Big business, big government, big labor, and big lobbyists have both parties in their back pocket and how the American people are being fleeced. He also shows how the speculators are driving up the oil prices and much much more.
Fleeced, Fileted and Forked ... September 29, 2008 James A. Hatherley (Boston, MA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Once upon a time the image was easier to picture. A smooth-talking wise guy would suddenly appear at the office of a judge or a politician with an envelope stuffed with cash. A deal that couldn't be refused was offered and accepted. It was what it was, bribery and corruption, pure and simple. Now, as Dick Morris relentlessly points out, page after page, there may no longer be envelopes filled with cash, but there is a far more widespread, and insidious, form of corruption. It may debatably not be as bloody, but the effect is far more expansive, and expensive. And yet, politicians rationalize this neo-corruption as though it has devolved into a legitimate form of governing. After all, if everyone else is doing the same thing, it cannot be wrong - especially when there are so many convenient loopholes, and unexplainable rationalizations to hide behind. Wrong! In "Fleeced", Morris describes - and decries - the widespread corruption that compromises the most sacred principles of our Country. NB - in an earlier book, Lou Dobbs equally as passionately shows the impact of this corruption on the very people they allegedly represent in his book, "War Against The Middle Class". There are so may previous reviews regarding "Fleeced" that I will not redundantly repeat what this book covers, but it is a lot - and it is very tough to take. Suffice it to say that what we need is a new generation of Muckrakers and Untouchables to clean up Washington, and to present the nation with new images that are once again easy to understand - that of corrupting and corrupted lobbyists and politicians wearing handcuffs to bind their greedy hands, and scruffy raincoats to hide their shamed faces as they head off to prison. In short, "Fleece" will make you angry. More important, I hope it will make you think about your votes in the upcoming elections.
