Product Description This book presents a fascinating look at developments in ships and shipping during the twentieth century by drawing together in a single volume all the events and achievements, the triumphs in design and seamanship, and the significant naval battles and marine disasters. The explosion of technological developments brought about by each of the century’s two world wars is dealt with in separate chapters. Other topics covered include the evolution of passenger ships, the revolution in transport caused by the emergence of the supertanker, the development of modern sailing yachts, and the spectacular improvements in undersea exploration.

don't think you know all there is about seafaring. THis book covers so much, that you'll need to read it multiple times in order to understand all the detail it gives you about commercial and naval vessels and the men that go out to sea.
