Product Description Moelker and Mennell have compiled a strong reflection of the brilliant work of sociologist Elias. . . Elias's sociology is a rich addition to the literature of stratification, military scholarship, conflict sociology, and understanding the concept of institutional development. . . Recommended."" Essential Addition to Any Naval Officer's Library: Will One Day Be a Classic April 20, 2008 Mark Hagerott (Annapolis, MD) Navy Captain Endorses "Genesis": I just realized that Elias' book has not yet been reviewed. I will provide a review in greater detail later, but for naval officers who run across this book, YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. While some of the finer points of dates/places in the work may be debated, it is nonetheless an important addition to a naval officer's library. This work, which explores back almost 500 years the genesis of OUR profession, is sure to become a classic. More later.
