Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
These beautiful laptop desks are perfect for the growing use of laptops in homes. With the increase in laptop temperature, placing your laptop on your lap can become extremely uncomfortable. The laptop desk solves that problem and allows you to easily prop up and adjust your laptop for use while on the couch, in bed, or even use it as a desk in your office. It's easily assembled and can be adjusted to fit any height. Bring your home laptop use to a whole new level.

3 out of 5 stars OK, BUT a Pain in the *** and Fingers   October 4, 2008
RubyD (Central TX)
Just so ya'll know...
The desk arrives COMPLETELY disassembled, which means that even the brackets that support the desktop must be attached by the buyer.
IMHO, it is a pain to assemble, especially if you have arthritis, since the bolts are blunt with a hexagon-shaped hole in the top.
These bolts must be screwed down into a plastic plug in the bottom of the desktop. The manufacturer includes a tiny little allen wrench for this purpose.
After some effort and frustration, we ended up going to a hardware store to buy a ratcheting nutdriver with a 5/32" hexhead tip, which made assembly much easier.
The shape of the legs ( the same four point style as a hospital bedside tray table) will NOT work with a regular recliner chair, or a sofa that is very close to the floor.
However, I believe that this desk would work next to the bed for either a laptop, a book, or a meal.
The finish on the desktop is a little rough on the edges, but very nice on the flat surface.
The completed desk seems sturdy and fairly stable.
Overall, it's a pretty good desk, much better than the wooden folding one that we initially purchased. That one lasted less than a month.

5 out of 5 stars Very useful desk   September 11, 2008

I'm very happy with this desk. It's the perfect solution for a small space and it makes a great team together with a laptop and a comfortable chair.

5 out of 5 stars Nice desk   September 10, 2008
Nancy
When I first got the desk, I was very disappointed because it was bent and it was a little scratched. I gave it a very poor rating.

I called the vendor and after speaking with customer service, they sent me out a new unit because it must have been damaged in shipping. Their customer service was very friendly and did not give me a hard time about replacing the desk.

The new unit came and I am pleased with it. It looks nice and my 17" widescreen laptop fits on it just perfectly. I keep it with my favorite chair and the whole setup looks modern. I used to get a lot of back aches using my laptop without the desk. Now I am very comfortable as I put in long hours studying.

I would recomment this product.

1 out of 5 stars do not buy furniture without seeing   September 5, 2008
S. Ahn (Palo Alto, CA)
The big hole on the steel plate that passes through the cross bar is not cut right. I cannot screw in the adjuster handle through the tilt-adjusting gap.

Based on other people's review, I think it's probably only mine. I do not want to go through returning this and mine will just sit in the corner of my room until I get a grinder or some similar tool. Should've gone to Ikea...

1 out of 5 stars Poor quality, not worth the money.   August 20, 2008

This item is of poor quality. I wonder how other reviews are talking about a nice wooden cherry finish. The finish is as cheap as it can be.
Don't expect a real wood finish, it is not. It will dissolve most likely
after a short period of time as it is a synthetic finish with artificial texture. In my case it already came with blisters and scratches. I hardly dare to touch it as it could be further damaged easily. Moreover, there are plastic threads incorporated into the desk, one of which was self-rotating such that I could not tighten the screw.

I will return this item to the sender immediately.
Not worth to spend $10 for it.
