Once you set up your personal InGrid system, you can always extend its reach. Building a new addition to your home? Simply add more sensors or even another Grid Extender.

Reliable Security That's Designed for Living

Invest in the InGrid home security system for a safer, more advanced household protection. This protection package preps your whole home with a reliable, easy-to-control network that's fully digital and surprisingly simple. Install it yourself in no time flat, and enjoy 24-hour professional monitoring, seven days a week. But don't mistake the system's simplicity for lack of sophistication. The InGrid system is every bit as comprehensive as many elaborate dealer-installed systems. Because InGrid is all-digital and it's designed with multiple redundancies, it's tougher to defeat and much more reliable than many professional set-ups -- at a far more affordable price point.

Choosing an InGrid System to Protect Your Home

Bigger can be better when it comes to total home security, because the InGrid home security system can be altered to fit any space and any lifestyle. Since InGrid is all-digital and infinitely customizable, you can expand it to meet any of your home's changing demands. Starting with this Home Kit created for spaces from 2000 to 3000 square feet, you can add multiple Grid Extenders to cover more and more territory as needed.

And the more you add, the more robust your system becomes. Every Grid Controller adds redundancy while extending the range of the grid, reinforcing the overall strength of the system with every piece you add. What's more, no matter how many components you collect, all of them are easy to manage via MyIngrid.com. But no matter how much turf you're covering with this advanced home protection system, InGrid will never leave you hanging. InGrid's network features constant two-way communication with a professional monitoring company; so if there's any kind of quirk or failure, you'll be informed immediately.

Ideal for These Applications

  • Cover and protect any larger living space
  • Multi-storied homes
  • Large townhouses or condominiums
  • Vacation homes
  • Businesses

With multiple networks at your disposal, you can check in on vulnerable relatives with the push of a Home Connect button.

Establishing Full Security from Day One

The InGrid system can be established in an average home in about 90 minutes with no workmen, drilling, or contractors stomping through your house. If you can handle peel-and-stick tape, you can set up your own customized, secure system in less time than it takes to watch a movie.
Ready to go, right out of the box. Each kit comes pre-configured from the factory. Just open up each numbered box, plug in each component sequentially, and voila! -- your protective grid is up and running. Then all you have to do is apply your sensors. Simply pick a spot on your window or door, affix the sensor clip and adjacent magnet on the opposite surface, use the handset to register the sensor, and snap the sensor into position.

Connect with other homes in your network. With InGrid's unique Home Connect feature, a second system is as easy to operate as the first. If you want to keep track of another location, simply install a second set of components. Then push the Home Connect button, and instantly your console reads all the secondary sensors. Through MyIngrid.com you can manage this other location just like it's your own backyard; look at activities and event histories, arm or disarm remotely, and monitor everything with confidence. Use this feature to keep an eye on elderly relatives, small businesses, or vacation homes. The possibilities are endless.

Emergency help is always right at hand. InGrid is designed with a panic button on the handset, so help is always nearby you when you need it. There's also a panic function on the keychain remote.

Reduce false alarms. InGrid offers a safer, less restrictive home security system that won't horrify the neighbors or aggravate the police. In addition to the InGrid keypad on the console and handset, there's also the easy-to-use, hard-to-screw-up keychain remote that comes included with this Home Kit.

InGrid systems are monitored by Guardian Protection, America's largest private monitoring company.
Each kit comes pre-configured from the factory for exceptional ease of installation.

Enjoy Better Protection from Better Features

Be more secure about your security. While most professionally installed systems are built with a single point of vulnerability (such as a master control panel that can be disabled in seconds), InGrid distributes the control points to multiple controllers -- each one a fully functioning mini-system. Even if one controller is disabled, your system remains intact because the other controllers are still are working.
Making sure the call goes through. Most systems have only one communication path to professional monitoring, but InGrid has three: broadband, telephone; and soon InGrid will offer GSM wireless. So in that worst case scenario, you'll never need to worry that your frantic alert won't make it to the monitoring center.

Reliability at every point. Most security systems offer only one-way sensors, but InGrid components are two-way for added reliability. Each door and window sensor sends, then confirms the signals. The wireless keychain remote arms and disarms your system and confirms success with an audible beep. Each Grid Controller talks and listens to the other Grid Controllers to ensure that everything is functioning correctly.

Non-emergency alerts. What time did your child return from school today? Did the dog walker arrive on schedule while you were out of town? InGrid is designed to give you the most reliable all-digital, professionally monitored home protection, but it can also help you monitor non-emergency events. So whether you're on vacation, at the office, or out to dinner, you'll be able to tell who's coming and going, and when.

Indoor chimes. InGrid can also provide optional indoor alerts, producing a gentle chime any time a door is opened. So if you're upstairs, in the basement or outside working on the yard, you won't have any unwelcome surprises.

Peace of mind around the clock. Any security system can provide full-time monitoring. Only InGrid gives you professional monitoring from Guardian Protection, America's largest private monitoring company. Guardian has been in the security business for 50 years, and today it operates America's most advanced, 5-diamond rated monitoring center.

Grid Controllers: Your personal grid of protection with two-way components for multiple redundancies.

Use the handset as a full-featured cordless phone, for real comfort when you're out and about on the premises.

The Components

The console: your command central. The InGrid console is much more than a keypad. It also functions as one of the system's Grid Controllers, sending and receiving data continuously with each of the sensors and with the other Grid Controllers. It acts as information central, displaying up-to-the minute weather (so you also know your system is connected and working correctly) as well as severe weather emergency alerts. Use MyIngrid.com to program birthdays and anniversaries, and your console will display them. And you can place the console anywhere you want. Mount it on a wall or leave it on a countertop if you like, or stick it in the kitchen.

The handset puts the power at your fingertips. The handset can come with you anywhere around the homestead, keeping the security controls and panic button right at your side. Keep the handset in the base's charger, or use the portable charging cradle to stash it elsewhere. The InGrid handset gives you full control over your home's security, but that's not all. It also pulls double duty as a full-featured cordless phone. What's more, the handset also can work as an intercom.

The handy keychain remote gives you real, portable control. Step out of your home and push the button, and your system is armed. To disarm the system before you open your front door, simply push another button. Because the keychain remote is two-way, you can be 100-percent sure the system arms and disarms by simply hearing the confirmation beep.

Wireless sensors offer two-way protection. Each of the wireless window and door sensors is small, but mighty. The sensors have a range of ten meters, and each one sends signals to the grid extenders and then confirms reception. This two-way capability coupled with a remarkable 10-year battery life delivers real reliability and comfort. So once you install these sensors (just peel the tape and stick them wherever you want), you can be confident that each one will protect you for a long, long time.

The Warranty
InGrid warrants the InGrid-branded or certified accessories (including all embedded software) sold by InGrid for use with the InGrid Digital Home Protection System to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer usage, and in accordance with manufacturer's instruction for one year from the date of purchase.

What's in the box:
This Ingrid home kit includes the base, console, handset, grid extender, eight sensors, and a keychain remote control. The kit is designed to cover a home with 2000 to 3000 square feet of space. All you need to complete this security package is a high-speed internet connection and an in-home router (neither of which is included with this Home Kit), and the InGrid Home Monitoring service (available for an additional monthly fee, but also not included). Please note that your InGrid security system is not fully activated without a subscription to an InGrid home monitoring plan.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars worst item i ever brought   August 26, 2008

It will charge you monthly fees (20 for self-monitoring and 30 for professional) For self-monitoring, it never mentioned anywhere that you will be charged for 20/mo. So if you don't want to pay the monthly fee, don't buy this item.

1 out of 5 stars Monitoring requirement is the weakest link   August 23, 2008

Just when I thought a company has woken up and learned the true needs of customers--flexibility. I thought it was a great device until I learned that it cannot be used (expensive doorstop) without the monitoring service. The Product Managers at Ingrid missed the mark on this one. I'm sending my unit back to Crutchfield tomorrow.

Note to Ingrid PMs: Let customer do self-monitoring for a fraction of the $30 monthly monitoring fee. You might just differentiate yourself from your competitors that way.

5 out of 5 stars Easy To Setup & Great Customer Service   August 6, 2008

InGrid hit a home run with this system. Easy to set up, tough to defeat and superb customer service if you get yourself into a jam.

We've been using it for a few months - zero troubles. I like their anti-false alarm design strategy along with the multiple points of communication to the monitoring station (broadband/DSL, phone, GSM).

In comparing wireless systems, this is a no-brainer.

4 out of 5 stars I like, but I may be returning it.   July 29, 2008

First of all, I do like this alarm system. It was not hard at all to set up the system. All items except for the sensors and key fob are preregisted. There are a few Honeywell items (smoke detectors, motion sensors, and glass break sensors) listed in the book and on Ingridhome.com that are compatible, which makes me wonder if it is just a rebranded product. Which I know may or may not be the case as I have bought wired (interconnected) smoke detectors that are also compatible with other brands. The main thing I did not like about this system is the required monitering service. Even on Ingrids website, the system kit at this price requires the service. If you order from them direct, you can get the same kit and self monitor for an extra price of $100. At $30 a month, thats just to much right now as I have seen others offering it for as low $10 a month. I know you are thinking that you get what you pay for. But, when someone broke into my cousins house, with an alarm, they grabbed a few things and ran before the cops could arrive. So I say just self monitor till you can afford the price or the worst happens. I wasn't thrilled with CS when I called asking about getting activated (granted it was mainly my problem as I typed in the web address wrong). Turns out you have to go to in ingridhome.com/register put in the code on the bottom of the box and wait up to 24 hours to get an activation code. Which is how I figured out that I had to have monitoring service. The backup batteries in the main devices, console and grid extendor, last about 24 hours when power is lost. I had an issue trying to register the key fob, I think the battery is very week but had not changed at this time. The light on the console stays on 24 hours when connected to power. It is bright and kinda annoying if in room with it. Again, I do like the system, but the intial cost (359.88 monitoring, 299.99 hardware) is high. I would also like to see a remote siren option. Never got it activated so I can not comment on the supposed 85db console siren

5 out of 5 stars The perfect alarm system for my needs.   July 26, 2008

I've been shopping for alarms systems for a while now. I wanted something easy to install that offered extended protection and had some kind of notification for entry, alarms, etc. This system fit the bill perfectly!

First of all, it took less than 2-hours to completely install this system. Right from the get-go I knew this was going to be easy. As soon as I opened the box, I was armed with an Easy Setup Guide and boxes labeled 1, 2, 3 & 4. Following the well written instructions was a snap. First the base that plugs into my router, next the phone and charger for the bedroom, then the console by the front door and finally the extender in the living room.

Once the "core" system was hooked up, sensor installation and set-up was a breeze. You can configure each sensor for the way you plan on using it. For me, that was four windows, three entry doors and the real surprise . . . my garage door in what InGrid calls "convenience" mode. (I will never leave the garage door open overnight again!) There are many customized sensor options to choose from and you can use the handset, console or the myInGrid website for tweaking the settings.

The sensors themselves attach via some incredibly strong double sided sticky tape and they blend in nicely with the white frames of my windows. They are however quite visible on my oak door frames. Not ugly, but not exactly stealthy. (See customer images.)

Arming and Disarming the system is a snap. You can choose between "Instant" arming, "Stay" at home arming or the most common, "Leave" the home arming. Customizable exit and entry delays give you plenty (or just enough) time to arm and disarm. Disarming requires a PIN# to be entered before the set time expires. You can also use the included keychain remote or myInGrid website to arm/disarm.

My favorite part of the system is the notifications. I have it setup to email my work and personal email address anytime a sensor opens/closes, an alarm triggers or an important event or malfunction takes place. You can even set it up to text message you alerts.

For now I am "self monitoring" the home and relying on notifications in the event of an intrusion. This isn't optimal (especially if I'm offline) so I'll be setting up the $30/month 24/7 Professional Monitoring service in the next couple weeks.

I'll add more to my review as I continue to thoroughly test the system. Even after only a week of ownership, I can highly recommend this to anyone whose needs are similar to mine.
