I walked into the store decided on Nikon's Monarch. Instead, I found myself over at the hawkwatch that afternoon gazing up with my new SRT Ranger 10x50 at 1200 Broad-winged Hawks flying overhead. As dusk closed in and cold, gusty winds pushed the hawks ever higher, I was still picking out distant kettles with ease. These perform!
You can buy better binoculars, of course. But at this price, these offer especially good optics, solid construction, and a superb lifetime warranty. They're actually handsome binoculars, although no picture I've seen of them would give you that impression. At just under 27 ounces, they're also surprisingly easy to handle. I highly recommend these!
