In love with Kindle! August 28, 2008 K. Reed 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It just arrived and I love it already! I teach computer science and I am impressed! I ordered a book BEFORE IT ARRIVED and it was there when I opened the package! I found it easy to use and get used to - I have begun having difficulty holding books - carpal tunnel and arthritis - I just read holding it for an hour and no discomfort! I am bringing it to my evening faculty meeting and sharing.. I waited too long to buy it. Thanks for a truly great device.
Kindle: One of the best purchases I have made... August 28, 2008 S. R. Smith (Minnesota) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When the Kindle was first introduced, I eagerly watched these reviews for comments and researched it and the Sony e-book reader. After several months of sitting on the fence, I decided that the Kindle's features were just too good to pass up, and purchased one. It was a bit spendy, but after opening it and downloading my first book in a matter of five minutes, I was hooked. Not only is the wireless connectivity excellent, the book download process is simple and fast (sometimes in as little as 10-15 seconds). The basic browser is great to get the news, and the NowNow feature is fantastic. Not only have I received on-point responses to my questions, but the NowNow folks have even shown some humor in their replies! For those folks who have commented that the Kindle should have a color display, have a better web browser, or be a better multi-media device, I suggest you purchase a laptop. The Kindle is designed to be an electronic book, and the other features are just a bonus in my opinion. As an electronic book, the Kindle exceeds as well. I have not had a problem holding the Kindle, nor have I had an issue with the cover. After reading several books, I occasionally find myself trying to turn the page. Probably the best compliment an electronic book can receive! And the selection of books available on the Kindle grows every day. For anyone who is trying to decide whether to purchase the Kindle, I suggest you take the leap. You will not regret the decision.

I love the Kindle. I can't wait for some of my favorite authors to use Kindle for their material.
go green and enjoy August 28, 2008 Francislstillings (new orleansla) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can not even begin to tell you what a great product this is. I am an avid reader. I recently downsized my book collection and made it down to 5 bookcases and several stacks. I am sure that I will still buy some books but it is great to download books in less than a minute without using a computer or anything other than the unit. I have used it at the beach as well when traveling. It doesnt look like a computer but a real page of paper. I love it and have been showing it to everyone I know and suggesting that they get one. Greatest invention since sliced bread easily.
In love with Kindle August 28, 2008 Charlie (Intermountain West) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm in love with my Kindle. I love reading and then suddenly remembering another book I'd like to sample - within minutes the free sample (or whole new book) is in my hands. One reservation I have is that I have to be careful when picking it up not to put my fingers on the page turner; it's hard to remember not to put my hand on the easiest part to hold. I also tried using the bookmark, but it didn't seem to work for me. And, as with audio books, it's not always easy to go back and find an earlier page I want to see. But for me, the advantages outweigh the negative aspects.
