Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The light automatically turns itself on when motion is detected by the built in motion sensor and turns itself off 8-12 seconds after you leave the area. Dusk to dawn sensor prevents daylight activation. When left in the auto mode this light will only go on at night when motion is detected, and will only go off once there is no motion left in the area. The light will left on at all times when set to cont mode. Great for sheds, closets, stairwells, etc. where an electric outlet is not available.

5 out of 5 stars GOOD, RELIABLE MOTION-ACTIVATED LED NIGHTLIGHT   October 11, 2008
Watch Guy (USA)
I have two of these that I bought at Harbor Freight Tools for $8. ea. They look exactly like this, so I am assuming it's the same. I have one on the staircase to my basement, and one in the kitchen (my kitchen light switch is behind the fridge, and hard to get to in the dark).

Anyway, while these do not throw a ton of light, they reliably turn on at just the right time when I enter the room. Sometimes a wave of my arm is needed, but they ALWAYS come on to show me the way. After sensing no motion for a few seconds, it stays on for an additional 20 seconds or so, then quickly dims until off... it's very cool.

I spent a lot of time positioning them properly. I also removed the transparent blue cover over the LED to increase the light output. It has a single LED and it takes 4 AA batteries, so they last a good, LONG time.

There is a switch for Off-Auto-On on the back. Another nice thing is it has a light sensor, so it never comes on when it's light in the house, and it really works well!

I do wish these threw a little more light, but honestly, they were really well priced, and I just use them as a way to light the path to my overhead light switch, and to help light the basement steps. They work excellent in this capacity.
