Product Description Give your camera's harsh pop-up flash a makeover! The Puffer flash diffuser gives you the same flattering lighting style used by professionals. The Puffer simply slides into your camera's flash shoe and places the diffuser in front of your pop-up flash. The diffuser softens the light which gives you much better color and softer shadows, an all together better shot in a flash! Problem with Mount has been fixed... November 21, 2008 Gary Fong (seattle, wa) The mount that some people have had trouble with was fixed with a slight design modification quite a while ago. While most dealers' stock has been replaced, there are some that are still trickling through. If the mount broke for you, call customer support at 800-906-6447 x1 and they will send you the new one. It doesn't matter where you purchased it. The design change is illustrated here http://garyfonginc.com/images/PUF-MOUNT_v2.jpg.
does the job but flimsy November 20, 2008 Marchelle R. Mosley (Indianapolis) I got this for my Nikon D80 for indoor snapshots of my kids. I watched a youtube tutorial on how to properly install it, and once I recieved it I thought it would be a piece of cake. It broke in two on my first attempt. I am still able to use it (for how long, I dont know) and it does do a fantastic job at diffusing the light. My photos look natural, clear and bright. If you aren't looking to drop a couple hundred on a Speedlight and just want something cheap to go with your pop up flash, this would be it. Just expect to get what you pay for as far as durability goes!
YEAH IT BROKE!!!! November 8, 2008 Tom Miller (Harrisburg, PA United States) The first time I put it on my D200, the mounting base broke in two!!!! I knew from previous reviews this could happened so I was very careful. Didn't matter... I applied very little pressure but it just snapped. It still works ( but you have to carefully align the 2 pieces) and does what it says it will do for the flash, but there is a definite design flaw... For the money I expected something a little better!!!! If it didn't break I'd give it 4 stars....
overrated November 8, 2008 z1ny (new york, ny) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It broke on me the first try. So I got inspired and used a maxi-pad and it works the same at a fraction of the price, and is a much better conversation-starter at parties.
Great idea needs improvement October 29, 2008 C. Alspaugh (Columbus, OH USA) It does exactly what it is supposed to for an inexpensive price, but the black part that slips into the hot shoe broke on mine a few days after I began using it. I love the idea of not toting my big flash, but this piece needs to be more sturdy. I'm hoping to be able to glue it and continue to use it...
