5 out of 5 stars Great DVD Player   October 4, 2008
LisaNTexas (Fort Worth, TX)
I bought this for an 11 hour road trip each way. This DVD player was great. Picture and sound were clear. I liked that it came with a holder you can use to hang it from the seat to view in the car. We didn't have any problems with it skipping. The price was great too.

1 out of 5 stars Unusable for MP3 collection playback   September 27, 2008

I purchased this player hoping to use it as an MP3 playback device, replacing my CD player, in my home stereo cabinet. (I've recently ripped my entire CD collection and have put the files onto a 32GB USB stick.) Unfortunately, the user interface for MP3 playback is unusable for anything beyond a small number of files.

- Coby's interface ignores filesystem hierarchy on the USB stick, so instead of allowing me to select one of the top-level directories I've created such as "classical" or "rock/pop" or "soundtracks", the Coby player simply scans the entire USB stick and presents me with a single list of several hundred subdirectories of MP3 files. No Coby, that's not how I ordered the files within the file system, and that's not how you should display them to me. Modern operating systems have understood the concept of "folders within folders" for 20 years now, but Coby's software doesn't.

- The interface shows only the first 6-10 characters of each directory name.

- There is no rapid-scroll feature or even an autorepeat when I hold down the remote's "down" button to choose a different directory (album). This means that if I want to play songs from the last album on the list, I'd have to press the down button on the remote hundreds of times.

If you have a small number of MP3 files on a USB stick then this player is probably fine, but with the advent of USB flash up to 64GB, and soon even larger, it's simply not acceptable for a device that claims to support "MP3 and video playback off of external USB device" to not understand the basic concept of file hierarchy.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, Worth Buying, Lot of accessories   September 3, 2008
Subramanian Sivaprakasam (O'Fallon, MO USA)
I bought this product couple of weeks before. Picture and Sound Quality are too good. I found lot of accessories comes with this product. The headphone that comes along with this is also good. This player plays all the formats as described in Amazon. I mainly bought this product because it has USB port. Using Flash drive (2GB) via USB port I watch movies. This player really has lot of features. I feel this product is worth for the amount I paid.

4 out of 5 stars Coby portable dvd player   August 30, 2008

This product's versatility in allowing you to view in several formats and the use of thumb drive for watching movies is very practical.

5 out of 5 stars Better than i expected   August 25, 2008
Juan Carlos Caballero Pavlovich (MEXICO)
i really like this portable dvd, because i use it to play video-music with a 4GB usb memory and i can store about 80 video-songs, im gona buy a 8GB usb memory now that they are cheaper, with this memory you don't scratch DVD's and you can delete and add new songs easily, i download'em from youtube and convert them to divx, you can also make folder for the songs and it recongnize'em and play the folder that you want, something else wath i did is that i conect the audio from the DVD to the car stereo spekers, you need somebody that knows how to do this job and you need to plan a good area to hold the DVD so it will not be in your way.
