 Great earbuds September 5, 2008
A teacher man
I just bought these earbuds, and my early review of them is that they are excellent. I've probably bought half a dozen sets of earbuds in addition to the ones that have come with the mp3 players I've bought, and these are by far the best. They aren't the cheapest, but at a little less than $40, I still think they are a good value. If you're looking for in-ear noise reducing earbuds, these are great IF you select the right pair of bud covers for them. They ship with the "small" covers attached, and when I listened to my iPod with those, I was really disappointed in the sound. I took those off and put on the "large" set, and the sound was improved 100%. My earbuds never last more than about six months since I use them for running and causual listening. I am saving all of the literature that came with them so I can take Radius up on the lifetime guarantee if these should fail. All in all, I think these are a solid product.

I know that many people will consider a $40 pair of in-ear phones to be on the high-priced side, but these are actually some of the cheaper earphones available. They do exactly what you would expect: provide a bass-heavy, rather unnatural, sound from portable media players. As someone who normally uses a separate headphone amplifier (most often a C&C XO) even with high-efficiency headphones, I really don't need the efficiency of these units. The quality and clarity of the sound doesn't begin to compare with many of the units that are only a few dollars more. Also, these seem to be made rather cheaply, with flimsy cables and tips that don't stay in place very securely. (Not to mention the extremely frustrating difference in cable length between the earpieces. This is a feature that I simply can't stand, even though I have several units from other manufacturers with the same silly design.) Overall, I would suggest that these are suitable mainly for people who (1) don't really care too much about clarity, sound balance, and quality; (2) like a lot of bass, even if it's not in the original recording; and (3) don't have much money to spend on such things.
One last, off-topic comment: I really wouldn't put much stock in reviewers who spell "bass" as "base"...it suggests that the reviewer would be a person who, never having owned or driven anything other than a Yugo, would claim that the Yugo is the best car in the world. If you don't know how to spell "bass", I doubt that you have much experience with audio equipment in general.

These are ordinary headphones. For a couple bucks more you
can get an ipod shuffle and a better pair of earphones that
come with it.
I think these sound tinny and do not provide the bass I was
looking for.
As for falling out of your ear, the directions suggest wrapping
the cord over your ear. It seems to help.
I don't care for the different lengths of cord from each earphone.

First off, all MP3 players have terrible sound. But these are made like junk, and the rubber seals will fall off inside your ears.

I like music but I am not an audiophile; I do know that my Apple earbuds were not cutting it, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on a pair of headphones. I wanted something portable that had excellent sound, good bass, did not hurt my sensitive ears, and could block out external sounds ( for a long flight ).
With that in mind I went searching and after reading almost nothing but positive reviews I took the plunge and went with these Atomic Bass headphones. Who says you can't have it all?
The fit is tight, but not nearly as uncomfortable as a clip style headphone or 90% of the earbuds I have tried over the years. They are actually much smaller than I expected. The sounds quality is clean, clear, and as rich as my home stereo without waking the baby. If there is anything wrong with the sound coming out of these headphones it's probably because of the compression artifacts that you are hearing for the first time.
I would enthusiastically recommend these to anyone looking for a similar set of good headphones.
