Wonderful Wireless Modem Jack!!!!! July 28, 2008 D. COXSON (AL) RCA RC930 Caller-ID-Compatible Wireless Modem Jack is a wonderful product for us. Have Dish Network or Directv? Really great for connecting an extra telephone line. You can even add a splitter and maybe have an extra phone near the satellite receiver. Word of caution: always plug the jacks into an actual wall outlet and not use extension outlets. This may cause some interference. Try them you'll like them!!!!!
does what you'd expect July 28, 2008 Robert Wissmann Used the RC930 for my series 2 tivo. Plugged it in and it worked exactly as I expected. Probably wouldn't have bought it if I'd realized the series 2 can use a wifi adapter instead of a phone line.
It didn't work July 15, 2008 A. McDonald (North Carolina) I wanted to get this to use with our computer modem to keep from paying the phone company $90 to install a phone jack. Well it didn't work. I'm hoping it will at least work for our DirecTV box.
Do not buy this piece of junk! June 9, 2008 Docoftheforce I bought this yesterday in order to place a fax machine where there is no telephone outlet. I followed all instructions closely and it worked fine for about an hour. Couldn't get it to work again after that. Today called customer support for Audiovox which apparently makes this device. Nice lady on the phone but offered basically sympathy - absolutely no help at all. She started me on a wild goose chase through RCA customer support. I think I called at least seven 800 numbers, transferred multiple times, on hold forever, finally got someone who knew something about the product. Went throught various reset procedures and got it to work - oh, and by the way she said, all kinds or other wireless devices interfere with it such as WiFi, wireless computer networks, portable phones! This time it worked for about an hour again and quit. I was also told that the product has been discontinued! Why anyone conti nues to sell this piece of junk I do not know. Just let me warn you - do not be a sucker and buy one. It was obviously discontinued for a reason.
Easy to install and works exactly as described. June 4, 2008 Greg Moyle (Reno, NV United States) I needed to hook up my Dish PVR in a location where it was going to be difficult and expensive to run a phone line. This worked perfectly. Take a moment to read the instructions because they specify the order in which to plug the units in. Don't know if it really matters, but it was a small detail I noticed. After plugging them in, the configuration was extremely simple. It has worked flawlessly now for over a month. It was exactly what I needed.
