The CL3500N prints at 22 ppm for both black-and-white and color documents. View larger. | Workgroup-Level Printing at a Desktop Price The CL3500N embodies the latest device management and print controller technologies to bring you 22 pages per minute (ppm) full-color and monochrome network printing options with image quality and a price that make it a leader in overall value and performance. This network-ready full-color/monochrome laser printer is designed to meet the needs of budget-conscious small offices and workgroups seeking fast, affordable color. Similarly priced color laser printers are often significantly slower than the CL3500N, while printers with comparable speeds and capabilities are typically larger and more expensive. The CL3500N is thus the perfect choice to meet all your needs for performance and value. Print Speeds and Resolution The CL3500N works quickly and efficiently, minimizing wait time. The machine takes only 30 seconds or less to warm up, and thanks to print speeds of 22 ppm for both black-and-white and color printing and a first page out speed of 13.5 seconds for black-and-white and 14.5 for color, you'll have plenty of time to focus on other tasks. In addition, the 1200 by 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution ensures that each and every document will come out crisp, sharp, and vivid. And the 128 MB of memory (512 maximum memory available) means the CL3500N handles even the most complex jobs with ease. Compact and Versatile The versatile CL3500N can be expanded to meet the demands of your business, while never occupying more space. You can simply add one or two 530-sheet paper trays to the standard 630-sheet supply and install them beneath the main unit. In this way, the printer can increase its capabilities without any alteration to the system footprint. You can also take advantage of the multipurpose tray to feed stocks up to 110 pounds, and save paper by producing two-sided pages automatically with the optional internal duplex unit. Seamless Simplicity The CL3500N comes equipped with a standard USB 2.0 and 10/100BaseTX Ethernet network interface, which allows you to seamlessly migrate from a direct connection from your PC to either your printer, or to multi-user network printing at no additional cost. To further maximize your investment, you can easily extend device access to new users with unique printing requirements. In older and historic buildings where installing hardwired network drops is difficult or cost prohibitive, and for temporary events like conferences and trade shows, you can take advantage of CL3500N support for a number of specialized connectivity options, such as IEEE 802.11b and Bluetooth Wireless protocols for cable-free printing. The printer also integrates seamlessly with computers running Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX operating systems. Integrate Options for Greater Value When you need even more functionality, the CL3500N is ready to grow with your business. Add the Ricoh IS200e Image Scanner to satisfy color copying needs and take advantage of electronic document distribution with Scan-to-Email, Scan-to-Folder, and more. Capture high-resolution color images for editing or placement into new digital documents, and then share that information instantly without distribution costs. The CL3500N comes with a one-year warranty.

Absolutely satisfied May 21, 2008 J. Warden (Midwest) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I work in a small office (~10 people) and we don't have a lot of money to spare. We have two printers, one is a leased $20,000 copy-machine from HP, and until I got this Ricoh, the other printer was a "good" HP (~$900). The "good" HP went dead one day without reason, so I went online to find a replacement. I settled upon this Ricoh and i've been happy ever since. On the old printer, we spent some $3000/yr on toner and maintenance. On this Ricoh, we spend thousands less each year, and have far better reliability and output quality. When we print high-quality brochures and programs, our $20,000 copy machine chokes or spits out some low-detail junk. The Ricoh gives me great quality all of the time. When the expensive machine is out of service for any number of issues (it is an HP, after all), the Ricoh is the printer everyone in the office can depend on. It has never broken down, and always gives us enough warning for when it needs routine maintenance. I HIGHLY recommend this machine to any small business which just needs a great quality printer for a low price. It networks easily, and is highly configurable. Prints everything from envelopes to letters to glossy cardstock without a hickup. Photo paper prints look like they came from CVS.
Great Machine But Watch Out if Parts Break April 29, 2008 shair Had the printer a month. Started getting a white sheet down the side. The photoconductor unit is causing it but on EVERY site, EVERY sheet, it claims that the photoconductor unit is good for 15,0000 impressions, of which we got 3,000. When you bring this up to Ricoh, you know the whole routine... "Oh, that 15,000 impressions is based on old surveys using only 5% of the whole page covered in ink." Ricoh must think people print out entire sheets of black. Anyway. We bought the machine in February. We stopped using it in March because of the white streak. It's now April and Ricoh still has no idea when they can ship me out a photoconductor unit. They feel no responsibility because the unit is a "consumable" part and we can go out and get one if we really need it. So says Will, Brad, Larry and whoever else works at their service department. So this is what I'm deducing after using Ricoh, Getstaettners and Laniers. You are much better off getting one of their subsidiary printers (like getstaettners or Laniers) because it's a third party who will be servicing your units, not Ricoh itself.
Great workhorse color laserprinter March 17, 2008 Jeffrey K. Bounds (Central Gulf Coast) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Ricoh Aficio CL3500 about 6 months ago. It's been dead reliable, with no paper jams. I'm running the printer mostly from Macintoshes (MacOS X 10.4) and have found the drivers to be fine, with good control (you can put the printer into B&W or Color mode, with 15 printer-specific controllable features, far more than I need). The only complaint I thought I had was resolved -- when I bought the printer I noted several reviews said the text quality was poor. My first print job showed pretty lousy print clarity, and I was a bit disappointed that this was the case. However, when I turned on Colorsync for the print job (you can use either the supplied Ricoh Colorsync profile in the source machine or turn on color correction "in Printer"; both work) the print quality improved drastically, and is now as good as any B&W LaserJet I've used. Overall, a fantastic deal for a color printer that beats the pants off of inkjet printing costs.
Ricoh CL3500N Printer Review August 27, 2007 Richard Pastore (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have purchased many low end printers including the Samsungs. This printer has not had one bad issue, uses very litte toner and prints very high quality in B/W and Color. I have the same toner for 14 months and print daily. Great buy for the money.
Should Have Purchased the Duplexer August 23, 2007 M. Whited (Cambridge, MA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Ricoh CL3500N that I purchased didn't have the optional duplexing unit. I figured that would be fine, as for the few jobs I have that need to be duplex, I could do it manually. WRONG. I've spent all afternoon fighting with the print drivers to get it to collate and manually duplex. Apparently I need to add more memory to get the collating working right (it works for Word but not PDF), and just give up on manually duplexing (it just jams when I run the paper through the second time. HIGHLY frustrating. Otherwise it prints well (although it does seem to guzzle toner...) I think I'm going back to HPs.
