Beware These Printers August 11, 2008 Agaricus (San Francisco) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am another dissatisfied owner of an Epson printer - the all-in-one style is tempting, but not advised. You will be locked into expensive cartridge replacements, non-refillable, and the printer will not print black and white copies if any of the color cartridges are low - you have multiple ones to refill, expect to spend hundreds of dollars on replacements. Better to save your color printing for a dedicated photo printer, and us an HP or other black and white printer with refillable cartridges. Don't be fooled by the low price - the cost is in the ink.
Great product August 8, 2008 MKong (California) This all in one machine is really fits my need. The printing quality is spectacular with photo paper. I used kirkland glossy photo paper, the quality is very good. Copy and Scan features are very intuitive. I printed some DVDs with this printer, the quality is very awesome. I use continuous ink system for this printer, so i solve the expensive ink issue. This All in one machine is a good buy for home office and small business use.
Great product July 29, 2008 Brad A. Lachapelle 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This printer is awesome. We had some pictures taken professionally and our parents ordered some photos and we printed our own off on the 595. Ours were better than the ones taken professionally. I also have restored old photos on this machine that are much better quality than they do at walgreens or wal-mart. With the 6 ink cartridges, it isn't sucking up ink like lots of people say. Before purchasing this item, the sales representative printed off a photo with this machine, a $400 HP photo printer, and a $500 Canon photo printer. The one printed off with the Epson looked much better than the other two, and it was smudge proof right away.
Prints to CDs, brilliant and crisp texts, great multifunction printer July 25, 2008 A. M. Gacutan 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using this for more than three months now and it is working perfectly considering this item traveled overseas to get here. CD/DVD printing: I have printed on dozens of CDs/DVDs. You have to use EPSON's PrintCD program (shipped with printer) and choose manual print for it to work perfectly. Inks: yellow, light magenta, and light cyan are the fastest to run out when you often print in color and photos. Speed: The speed is amazing for the quality it delivers. Overall this is a great printer that will deliver light or heavy printing demands.
Ink not water resistent -- unless you use Epson Paper July 11, 2008 J. Ellis (Los Angeles, CA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This machine works great and creates beautiful photos. But an "All-In-One" machine should be able to print simple office memos, correspondence and other mainly text documents without requiring an expensive house brand paper stock. I use Xerox inject/copier paper with all of my printers, but with this Epson, the slightest moisture -- such as hands that are slightly damp after being washed and towel-dried -- cause the Epson ink to run. It's as though the ink we made from food coloring. Buy an Epson printer for quality photo printing, but avoid it for as an all purpose home office machine -- unless you want to shell out a great deal of money for basic inkjet paper.
