Amazon.com Product Description Stay alert to the conditions that affect you with Midland's WR-100 weather/all-hazard radio. The unit offers S.A.M.E. technology (Specific Area Message Encoding), which preprograms the device to receive only those warnings that apply to your local area--you can choose state, county, and/or nearby counties. The single-speaker radio offers 25 programmable county codes, access to 7 NOAA weather channels, time/date and alarm functions, and a choice of voice, siren, or tone alert. In the event of special warning broadcasts, the monitor is automatically activated along with a loud tone, an LED light and an alert message on its 8-character LCD. Emergency weather bulletins include alerts about tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, ice/snow storms, and other severe weather. Other emergencies might include Amber alerts, explosions, fires, or hazardous chemical spills. The radio uses the supplied AC power adapter or 3 AA backup batteries (not included). Batteries should give you approximately 24 hours of continuous operation; the clock will run for at least 10 days on batteries when the monitor is turned off (using the monitor on/off control). What's in the Box Radio, AC power adapter, and a user's manual.

Good radio September 10, 2008 guard guy (Mississippi (rural)) Good product. Recieved it promptly. Opened up the box, plugged it in. Read the instructions and programmed the county code for my state. Next time a severe thunderstorm came up (about a week later) it worked flawlessly. Would recommend for folks who live out in the rural areas and away from the toronado sirens. Once again a good product for the money.
Excellent little radio September 6, 2008 William R. Miller This radio is excellent. It picks up the weather better than others I've seen in this area. It is reasonably easy to program for the area if you have web access to get the lists of county codes. It works well, sits silent until there's an alarm.
Great Product August 28, 2008 B. Dolata (Genoa City, WI USA) After the rash of tornadoes in our area we decided to buy the Weather radio. Setup was very easy. We liked this product so much we bought another for my parents.
Great SAME Weather Radio - Works Perfectly August 19, 2008 R. Myres (Jupiter, FL United States) I have owned this unit (WR-100C) for over two months with no problems. Once the correct SAME code(s) for your area are entered, you can eliminate those alarms you do not wish to hear. As Tropical Storm Fay came by us, the radio was going off all the time with the new alerts just as expected. The only feature that I would like to see is an option button to mute all alerts except `Warnings' so that Informational and Watch alerts do not wake you up during the night.
A terrible radio! August 13, 2008 Stephen B. Daniels (Overland Park, KS) This radio worked great for about 4 months. Now everytime I turn it on I have about 10 seconds to listen to the weather then all I get is static and dislpay shows signal failure. To make matters worse, Midland, who is located near me told me I needed an external antennea. I then told her that it's worked fine for 4 months and it's been in the same location in my house the whole time. She told me to take it back where I bought it or send it in to them with my receipt. I bought this at a grocery store and I don't have the receipt. What a piece of s@*&!!
