I bought this item, to hear a Big Island of Hawaii shortwave signal
from Honolulu at night. A total of 177 miles.
The receiver did little else, than rebroadcast every AM station in
Honolulu on the Shortwave band, and between those stations, only
heard florescent lights.
Not worth the money...and for sure, I wouldn't depend on it in an
emergency.
Plastic, poorly built piece of junk, in my humble opinion.
