Product Description Audio Technica AT-PL50 Belt Drive Turntable - Though the phonograph turntable may seem like a dying breed, many audiophiles continue to play records and own large vinyl record collections. This turntable is somewhat unique because it has a built-in phono preamp. This means it can be connected to new stereo minisystems or components that do not have an input dedicated for turntable connectivity. It allows operation from the auxiliary input port. Balanced Tone Arm Soft damping control Includes 45RPM record adapter, RCA to MiniPlug adapter Dimensions - 14.17 (w) x 3.82 (h) x 14.06 (d) Weight - 5.3lbs.

Nice simple turntable September 23, 2008 Richard Day (Lynn, MA) I just started listening to vinyl. I do consider myself an audiophile. I'm a Berklee College of Music Grad. I was going to buy a more expensive turntable, but all the other ones were meant for DJ work. I just want to listen to the records, not scratch them to hell. This table sounds great, i might get a better needle and stylus for it however, but the one that came with it is just fine for average listeners. If you want to listen to your beegee records this is a good table. I'm listening to Vivaldi and it sounds fantastic. Enjoy!
Basic but good September 11, 2008 J. Stuart Jones (Houston TX) I bought this turntable to be able to transfer vinyl records onto CD via my home PC. This turntable fits the bill perfectly. It has a built in pre-amp so the input voltage is just right. It is not a sophisticated hi-fi product but it is not meant to be - basically it does what it is supposed to do!
More than worth the very reasonable price September 3, 2008 S. F. Shantar (So. California) This is a very nice turntable for the money. It has performed well for me over the past month, and it's great to be able to hear my old vinyl once again! It's an attractive unit as well.
Nothing More, Nothing Less August 18, 2008 Jakob Wunn If you're looking for a simple to use, cheap turntable to play your records, this one will work. If you've never played a vinyl record in your life, this turntable takes care of starting and stopping the record automatically. Setup is minimal and you can go from opening the box to playing a record in less than 5 minutes. If you're looking for a professional-style turntable with lots of features, this won't work for you. If you need the turntable to sit more than a foot from your receiver you will also need a cord extension. The cartridge isn't replaceable and there's no tone adjustment. I've used this product every night for over a month now and I haven't had a single problem with it. It plays records, nothing more, nothing less.
You get what you pay for. August 13, 2008 Wyatt Elbin This is a very simple record player worth the $40 some dollars. Its a great record player to get started on.
