This pocket-sized loupe (1.5" x 1.5") is perfect for viewing specific, close-up details, particularly in photos and documents. The resolution is incredible and distortion minimal - due to the flush proximity in which the lens must be to the image. I was pretty amazed at the clarity within a very minute and narrow field of view.
For broad-field viewing in which clarity is not important, although general enhancement is, stick with the over-the-counter square, pop-up or round magnifiers.
Better yet, own both: to see better what already can be seen using the broad-field magnifiers and then zoom in on areas with this loupe for the images you can't - but will.
For the real aficionados, also buy the 22X Peak Loupe.
