Does it matter where the pedometer is placed or attached?
The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
What's the accuracy rate of Omron pedometers?
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
What are moderate steps?
At least 30 minutes of moderate exercise is recommended each day. The HJ-151 Pedometer separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace.
What are aerobic steps?
The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer separately displays aerobic steps and minutes that start counting after 10 minutes of continuous walking with more than 60 steps a minute.

I wanted to monitor and increase how much walking I do in a day. I purchased several pedometers from local stores but none really worked well. Some would reset when I sat in a chair with arm-rests, others were very inaccurate, a few were just hard to read. I bought this Omron based on the reviews hoping it would be better. Amazon got it delivered rapidly and I put it to use the next day. Now, two weeks later, I can say "I love this pedometer!". I've found the HJ-151 to be very accurate and it will not inadvertently reset on me. The device automatically resets at midnight and the day's totals move into a week-long storage. The unit gives me Time; #steps taken since Midnight; # minutes of "powerwalking"; # powerwalking steps; distance walked; and # calories burned. The unit seems to be well thought-out (like diming the display to save battery power when it is not in use). Bottom line: I am very pleased with this purchase.

As part of the Shape up the Nation initiative, everybody at work got this. Close to 200 employees and each and everyone is pretty happy with this Pedometer. It does quite a few things for the price. We are all pumped up and we are competing with each other almost reaching 20,000 steps a day.

I am really happy with pedometer. It not only tells me how many calories I burned but it also tells me the exact time it took for me to finish my trail. I would recommend this product to anyone who would want something basic but very efficient & handy at the same time.

I just got my new pedometer... It was really easy to set-up and it's keeping track of steps pretty well... This is a good buy for the price... If you are looking a the other Omron Model, I would recommend upgrading to this model... It's worth the extra couple of bucks...
