5 out of 5 stars Excellent Iron   November 28, 2008
dashnj (Mullica Hill, NJ United States)
This is a great iron. I had an early-model Panasonic cordless iron for many years and it was the best iron I ever had. I dropped the iron and cracked the tank slightly and it still lived on for years. Eventually I had to replace it because of seapage where it broke. This time I had the option of the stainless soleplate and this is an even better iron.

I especially like how the cord retracts and you can store it away in your own case.

The steam and the heat is excellent. I use setting 2 for most fabrics and a 3 for only very heavy creased materials. With my previous Panasonic I used the highest heat setting for all but delicate materials.

Buy it, you'll like it. It's a great iron.

5 out of 5 stars Finally Free!   November 16, 2008

I really don't mind ironing as I like my clothes neatly pressed. I hate the cord. Maybe because I'm left handed and a klutz! With this new iron this is no longer an issue. The iron works like a dream. Yes you have to put the iron down on the charging base to keep it hot but that's a small price to pay for not having to deal with the cord. The steam function works really well and I think the detachable water holder thing is brilliant. Love the case it comes in too. Wow I'm so glad I found this product.

5 out of 5 stars Now this is an iron!   November 6, 2008

I have the model 71SR. I am assuming it is essentially the same. I just love it. You can adjust to have either high or low steam. I am a quilter and it works perfectly. You do have to replace the iron on its base so it can heat. I have a Rowenta that I am not going to throw in the trash. It is not worth donating or giving away. I love the ease of use of this iron, and I would highly recommend it! This iron is not real heavy and just a delight to use!

5 out of 5 stars Panasonic Cordless Iron   October 19, 2008
E. Wiest (Portland, OR USA)
Recently purchased the Panasonic cordless iron to replace a 5 year old defunct Maytag cordless. This is a comparable applicance at a lower price. We are very pleased with it. Check back in 5 years and we'll tell you if it outlasts the Maytag!

3 out of 5 stars Panasonic Cordless Iron   October 8, 2008

Panasonic NI-L70SR Cordless Steam/dry iron replaced a Maytag cordless iron. I use a cordless iron to press fabrics that I use for quilting. Although better than my previous iron, I was disappointed. It does not get as hot as I would like. However, in defense of the Panasonic, no irons today get as hot as the older irons that are no longer made. I would purchase it again because I need a cordless iron.
