Fine Radio December 4, 2008 Joseph Moless (San Jose, CA United States) Recently purchased this radio. Although not a tech type, I have a few high quality radios and enjoy shortwave to XM. This radio was easy to install, works perfectly and provides fine audio. Obviously access to the internet gives a vast array of stations and this radio permits quality reception without the need to turn on my computer. I am very pleased with the acquisition
Very Good Radio December 2, 2008 James Cavallo I recently purchased a Grace Wifi Radio and have found it to be quite good. The sound is clear. It works well whether I have it playing softly or moderately loud. I use it as an alarm clock in the morning and it works great. But of course the great thing is that it gets radio stations from all around the world without the hissing or other problems that short wave has.
Works Great for my Tech-Shy Mother November 30, 2008 B. Ilany (Connecticut) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My parents recently moved from the New York metro area out to a more remote location, and they lost all their favorite radio stations. My mother usually likes listening to NPR while she does chores around the house, and so my brother and I set out to find a good solution. We read through every review written for all of the different internet-radios available. Price wasn't so much of an issue - we were willing to buy something high-end provided the product worked as intended and my mother (who is not the most tech-savvy person out there) could easily operate. After a few days of trying to decide which product to try, we settled for the Grace Wi-Fi Radio. After taking the radio out of the box and plugging it in, we initially had some confusion connecting to our Linksys wireless access point. We turned off the radio, unplugged it, and tried again, and we haven't had a single problem since. The quality of the speaker is nothing short of superb, and the selection of radio stations is immense! My mom found half a dozen of her favorite stations and I showed her how to program them into the Favorites buttons on the front of the device. She's been using it for six months now, and just uses the stations she has in her favorites, so she doesn't really utilize the directory of thousands of stations. So if she had to go back and find the stations again, she may get a little lost without some help. But the buttons on the front thankfully mean she probably won't have to do that. I just asked her how it's been working, and she said "oh it's so great. This morning I was listening to Car Talk while ironing. Sometimes when I turn it on, nothing happens and I think I haven't really turned it on. But I figured out that sometimes it takes about half a minute to a minute for it to do all it's little connection things and then it starts playing the last station I was listening to, which is great. I love my radio!" If you're looking for an internet radio to get stations that you no longer have access to, this thing will do it well. The operation is very undaunting - for the tech-savvy individual you will be able to just start using the device. The interface is very intuitive and straight forward. If you find yourself easily confused by newfangled devices, the provided instructions are easy to follow and should get you browsing through stations very quickly. Setting favorites is easy - you just press and hold down the favorite button and the current station gets programmed in, just like a car stereo. Quality is great, so far reliability has been great in the first 6 months. Like I said, we were willing to spend the cash to get her something that worked. The Grace was by far not the most expensive option we could have gone with, but in the end I think it was the smartest.
Amazing little radio November 29, 2008 Urne Wisconsin (Tampa, Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you love radio this is amazing. Mainly I listen to Public Radio and the sound is good. However, if you require Bose quality sound for music this probably won't do. Access to over 10,000 radio stations is the real reason to buy an internet radio. We now have two of them; one in the kitchen and one next to our bed. Although we haven't I understand you can jack the Grace into your stereo system for better music sound quality.
Good product November 23, 2008 TV Lover (Phoenix, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this item for my office for ambient music. I thought about getting a satellite radio, but with all the turmoil with that and the subscription fees I was not up for that. Regular radio has so many adds that that was not helpful. This "radio" fit the need. It was easy to set up and picked up my Linksys router immediately. Within a couple of minutes, I had internet stations playing loud and clear. There is a huge variety of stations to choose from. I was able to find and preset a few stations that fit our office ambiance. We now have good music and not all the repeats from the CD player over and over. It is exactly as I hoped it would be. No complaints, except that the price seemed a little high which is why I gave it a 4-star rating. I would definitely buy this item again if the need arose for another radio.
