1 out of 5 stars Fitness Product?   October 15, 2008
Jason Green (Warrenton, Virginia)
I don't think I've ever given less than a 3 on any review. This blanket had a chemical stench that was probably left by some chemical that's banned from use in the US. It smelled something like formaldehyde. It just cut through the mind. The smell was so bad that I had to put it outside in the back of the truck until I got it to the dump. I didn't want to wash it and get whatever was on it in my washing machine or in the septic system. A blanket like that is no good to me. I can't believe anyone else would use it, especially for what's supposed to be a spiritual and uplifting exercise.

I bought a Manduka mat and it smelled, but this blanket was much worse. I understand the manufacturing process may result in a slight odor, but there has got to be a better way than this. The only thing I can understand is that the absolute cheapest and most toxic chemical was used to prevent insect damage of the wool and provide the absolute maximum shelf life. Yep, I'm not happy about it. I've owned a lot of wool blankets and I know they didn't smell like that, or seem so cheaply made and thin.

Sorry, but it was that bad.

5 out of 5 stars Hugger Mugger Deluxe Yoga Blankets   June 26, 2008

The blankets are great! The only bad thing I can say about them is that they are a little itchy. Other than that, they work really well.

4 out of 5 stars Nice and supportive   June 11, 2008
Alilane (Anchorage, AK)
I really like this blanket because it is nice and supportive when folded and makes and excellent prop. I haven't had much of a problem with fluff pieces flying around when I open and close it, but this may because I mainly use it in folded and rolled positions as a prop rather than as an actual blanket. The color is much more purple than it appears in the picture.

4 out of 5 stars Great for yoga and lounging   May 22, 2008

This blanket is a versatile yoga prop and nice blanket to enjoy with a book. It is wool so it's slightly scratchy but still one of the softer wool blankets I've touched.

3 out of 5 stars Nice and heavy but lots of fuzz   April 7, 2008

This is a nice blanket for Savasana and using under hips while sitting, but it sheds a lot of fuzz. When folding it a lot of purple bits fly around. This may get better with repeated washing. The color is good, more purple than it looks in the picture.
