great earbuds August 28, 2008 E. Nguyen (bay area) when i bought these, they were what i expected from reading the reports. mid and highs were clear and the lows are decent. if you like a lot of bass then you gotta go with another set. you guys probably have read all the pros about them so ill just list my cons. im the type of person so sticks it very deep in, so at work it is hard to take out and put back in when people come and talk to me. its sort of a hassle cuz it takes like 5 secs to put in and then 5 seconds to pull out. and i also cant hear anyone unless i see them. another thing is, because i stick it so far in, when i pull it out, i guess it expands the part of the rubber piece that connects to the earbuds. therefore, the seal for the rubber on the earbud gets loose, so when i was at the gym i pull it out and bam, it get stuck in one ear. so i was at the gym with a piece of rubber stuck in my ear. not fun after a few months i looked at the filter but i didnt notice anything dirty but i wanted to change the filter to see if it helps. i used needle nose plyers to pull it out because the tool they give makes the old filter useless if you want to use it agian. so after replacing it i didnt notice a difference so i popped the old ones back in. now i use the big flange because the smaller one is too loose and gets stuck in my ear. i think its because i stick it very far in my ear. using these with ipods, i have no worry about it being damaged because of high volume levels but with the laptop you gotta be careful. if the sound is on full blast and you pop ur earphones in, it might not come out alive. so be careful about that. i have to put the wave volume on very very low, near the minimum then i can adjust using the volume. these earbuds sort of get my ears numb after a while but maybe thats because i stick it all the way in. maybe i should give the foams another try. but i highly recommend these to anyone who likes crisp clear sound. i just bought the sennhiser cx300 to use at work and places where i might need to talk to people because they are 25 on amazon and then tehres a 15 dollar rebate so its a deal at 10 bucks. and i hear they sound very good.
The ER6i Earphones are great August 28, 2008 Ellen Woods (CA, USA) I am really pleased with the quality of these headphones. When I put them in Im practically deaf to all other noises around me. They are also extremely comfortable, unlike some other earphones. Although the white has become a little dirty.
Great for Medical Transcription August 26, 2008 S. Klausing (Kentucky) I purchased these earphones for use in medical transcription, so my review is based on their ability to perform in that specific context. I work out of a 550-square-foot apartment, and my husband, though he tries very hard to be quiet, is constantly making noise around me. These earphones are great at blocking out sound. I no longer hear the floors creaking in the hallway, the clanging of pots and pans in the kitchen, or the loud flush of the toilet. Plus, the dictation is much clearer and easier to understand. I am able to turn the volume down to a much lower level. Another thing that I like about these earphones is that I find them to be relatively comfortable. This is the first pair of "in-the-ear" headphones that I can actually wear. Most are far too uncomfortable for me. The way these are constructed makes them fairly adjustable. I have found that mine get dirty very quickly, which is why I gave the product four stars instead of five. They are not particularly difficult to clean, but having to do it often is rather inconvenient. Still, a small trade-off in my opinion. Overall, I would definitely recommend these to medical transcriptionists for on-the-job use.
great earbuds August 22, 2008 Dennis L. Huynh I've had a few earbuds and headphones, and these are by far the best. Compared to Bose, these sound much cleaner from the highs to the lows. It does lack in the bass department though, so Bose gets it there. You can compensate for this using an equalizer or buying a different pair of buds. I've been shopping around for a while and I'm glad I chose these. My friends use theirs when they ride their motorcycles, and I'll try this weekend. Sorry for the grammar, but I'm using my iPhone to type and I can't see the whole thing hahaha. Buy these, you'll be happy.
Bassless August 22, 2008 Nicholas Yamashita The sound quality on these are amazing. The first batch I got had a slight distortion to the sound but the next pair was flawless, however, I was disappointed with the lack of bass. I don't like it when headphones have an overwhelming amount of bass but some is necessary and these didn't seem to deliver that.
