4 out of 5 stars Simple and cheap.   October 6, 2008
Ross A. Seymour (La Crosse, WI United States)
It does what it's supposed to do: count steps. I was just looking for a simple cheap way to give me an idea of how much I walk each day. A few years ago I started walking back and forth to work, as well as running errands around town. This pedometer did that.

I don't know how accurate it is, but it measured pretty close to what I thought.

The biggest surprise was how comfortable and unobtrusive it is. I forget I have it on until I go home and take my belt off. I do have a bit of a belly and I thought I would feel the device on the top of my belt, but no, I didn't.

Simple and cheap, and it works too!

4 out of 5 stars Step vs Stride   September 19, 2008
Thomas F. O'rourke (Ocean,N.J.)
I purchased an Accusplit AE120XL step pedometer in July of this year. I am having trouble comparing the readings on the pedometer to my milage pedometer. This morning I tested it again against the milage pedometer and after walking one mile the step pedometer read 995 steps. I would like some help in determing the correct definition of a step vs a stride. A source at Google says that a step is the distance one travels by lifting one leg and steping forward. To determine a stride you double the step. I walk daily an average of 2.5 miles a day and leave the step pedometer on until I retire at night and I don't get close to 10000 steps daily. I wear it on my belt on my hip which seems to always move the pendulum as opposed to wearing it on my belt over my knee which sometimes results in faulty readings. The product is nice and easy to operate and I am pleased with the quality but can't seem to correlate the steps/strides to a very accurate Accusplit milage pedometer. Can any one help?

3 out of 5 stars pleased with product   August 29, 2008
Jeanne W. Townsend (Woodstock, NY)
Completely satisfied with product except it is very difficult to open case to see how many steps have been taken. I have another pedometer like this but it opens easily. Must be a quality control problem.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't be easier!   August 12, 2008
A. Clarkson (Webster, NY United States)
This pedometer is as simple to use as it gets! Put it on your belt or waistband and walk -- that's it. Has a built-in safety tether, too, so you won't lose it accidentally. It's amazing how motivating it is to have this little device on your hip. Makes you want to walk a few more steps everywhere you go.

4 out of 5 stars Decent   July 19, 2008
T. Smith (Chicago, IL)
This pedometer may not be perfect, but it's decent.
What I like:
> I didn't have to do any preparation for it to measure my steps...no pre-setting, taking 10 steps, nothing! Just attach to waist band and go!
> Fairly accurate count
> Easy to read

What I don't like:
> The price, because...
> ...it's ONLY "fairly" accurate. For the price I expected a bit more accuracy.
> No directions to tell you how to adjust the pedometer's step count to be more accurate
> The clasp isn't always secure enough and the rope gets in the way

But all-in-all, I like this product. It's better to know I'm in the vicinity of 10K-12K daily steps than not knowing how many steps at all!
