I haven't used this a lot, but so far it works INCREDIBLY well. Previously I used an inverter when I wanted to use my laptop in my car. This is 10 times better than an inverter, because it takes up a lot less space, and makes NO NOISE!!! At least I haven't heard it make any noise when driving around in my explorer. The bonus for me will definitely come when I get to use it on the plane.

I just used this adapter on a trip to the Middle East. The auto cigarette lighter feature worked perfectly, allowing me to use the computer all day long in the field. At night, the adapter had no trouble handling the 220 volt power system of the country I was visiting. I did, however, need to purchase a British-style plug adapter that let me plug the Laptop adapter into the hotel's electric system.
