Product Description
The Mobile Power Pack's sophisticated design complements today's mobile devices including MP3 players, mobile phones and portable gaming systems. Smaller than a deck of cards, this innovative device delivers hours of extra battery power for those gadgets consumers need most while on the go.APC utilizes lithium polymer battery cells, an advanced battery technology with a higher power density than traditional lithium ion cells, to create a compact solution with high power output. Weighing slightly more than 3 ounces, the Mobile Power Pack is a necessity for any mobile user.

5 out of 5 stars Better than expected   December 3, 2008
C. Parsons
I'm basically a moron when it comes to technology. All I know is that I plug this thing into my drained iPod and a very short while later it's fully charged. I'm guessing a half hour or so, but I could be mistaken, as I am usually listening while charging.

Lightweight, portable (I carry it in my fairly large purse). Holds a charge like crazy. I can charge the iPod at least 3 full times before needing to worry at all about the APC.

My two complaints are extremely trivial and maybe don't even belong here. The finish is glossy, which I don't like; and I don't care for the indicator light- it's a long bar that grows increasingly dimmer toward the end when the unit needs to be charged. No big deal as I said.

All in all a great product.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad!   November 24, 2008
Steve Waddell (Hampton Roads, VA)
I bought this because of the short battery life of my iPhone 3g. It works well! I also have a charger in my car built into to my after market stereo, but there is a need for a product like this, especially when traveling. I even use it when in front of the TV (I often go through the iTunes store, checking out new apps while watching TV. By evening, my power is drained, so I plug into the charger and continue).

Pros:
*Provides a convenient, mobile way to charge your iPhone when needed
*Small enough to fit in your pocket (it's a little bit lighter than the phone, and overall, about the same size)
*Provides more than a single charge
*Can be used with any type of phone through it's USB port

Cons:
*Does not hold it's charge for any real length of time (I have not yet tested how long it does hold it's charge, but I have learned that if it sits for a long period of time, there is no charge left). Demoted my ranking 1 star for this.

4 out of 5 stars Very useful   November 3, 2008
American Shorthair (LaGrange Park, IL)
I bought this product because I was taking a long flight to Europe.

It did just what it was supposed to. You get about 2 iPhone charges out of it. It is very lightweight and sleek, so it is easy to carry around. Sometimes I even stick it into my pants pocket if I'm in a hurry.

Having to press the button a couple of times to fully charge my phone does become annoying, that is why I am not giving it 5 stars.

It would be nice if they came out with a thicker, double-duty version good for 4 charges. I would definitely buy that!

1 out of 5 stars Really disappointed   October 14, 2008
Gadget packer (Houston, TX USA)
I bought it to charge my Nokia N810 PDA and my daughter's Nintendo DS or PSP while on the road. It does not work on any of those! It only works for my verizon cell phone. I guess the problem is it has a very limited charging capability. Anything bigger than the cell phone shuts down the battery circuit.

I later bought a Duracell backup battery, which works great on all of my devices. But it has only 1000mAhour of energy, which is about half of the APC unit.

The APC unit looks good and has good energy level. But it is only good on paper. Big disappointment, especially considering the price tag!!!

5 out of 5 stars Worked Perfectly   October 9, 2008

I bought the battery as a backup for my ipods and iphone during long flights that I take for work. But a couple of days after it arrived, Hurricane Ike hit Houston. I was without power for 11 days and relied on this battery to charge my iPhone and stay in touch during this period. Charged it off my car power outlet. No compatibility problems with iPhone 3G, iPod Touch or other iPods. Highly recommended.
