5 out of 5 stars Best Case for Any Ipod   January 23, 2008
M. Oleary
This product as well as the ones for the other Ipods are the best cases for your Ipod. Every day, this case either travels in the pocket of my backpack (along with a phone, pens, loose change, and other random possibly damaging items) or in my pocket (again, along with pens, loose change, and other random possibly damaging items).
Pros:
* Slimness: You would never even know the case was there. It wraps around every curve in your Ipod seamlessly and the design is very inconspicuous, meaning it doesn't look or feel like you're lugging around brick--in fact you can hardly tell it's there(especially with the U2 Edition Ipod).
* Texture: All it is, is a hard layer of plastic with some smooth rubber that surrounds the openings. The display is crystal clear. What I really liked was the fact that it is not made out of the material that clings to dust and trash like some cases (especially Incase).
* Drop-ability: The case is indestructible. Plain and simple. I have dropped my iPod while it was in this case countless times and not a scratch, dent, or even song skip has occurred.
* Open-and-Close: The case is opened and closed via two small latches on the right side of the case. The latches fit into the design of the case perfectly.
* Scratching: By the time my first contour case was in need of a replacement (had been roughly a year and 2 months) the case was covered in scratches. Yet even with these scratches, the iPod inside the case was untouched and, with the lowest brightness level, you could still see the screen perfectly (as long as you were not in direct sunlight.

Cons:
* You have to take your iPod out of the case and clean both the inside of the case and the iPod daily with a tissue or Kleenex. After a while small particles of dust will accumulate and will, after time, leave small scratches on your iPod. I personally do not mind this. I would sacrifice these small flecks in return for the easily reachable USB output and headphone/hold switch output which this case offers.

* Click Wheel: I wouldn't call this a complete con. The access to the click wheel this case offers is superb (the case doesn't cover it up at all) and is much better than the rubber coverings I have had in the past. Though because of this access, the clickwhell has succumbed to numerous dents and exposure to the elements, though this is partly my fault for where I carry it (see beginning of review).

All in all this case has been the best iPod case I have yet to encounter.

5 out of 5 stars best ipod case   December 28, 2007

this is second one of these cases that i buy. very durable, looks good. if you are really picky about scratches, get a silicon case. the lock that keeps it close is safe. it gets scratched, but is not really noticeable when you play a movie.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   November 6, 2007

I've had the product for about a month and dropped it several times. It is sturdy. No scratches. Allows easy access to all controls of the I-Pod. Would definitely recommend this product.

5 out of 5 stars Protect your Ipod wit h Style   October 23, 2007

I purchased the first iteration of Contour case for my earlier Ipods after an Ipod slipped out of a slip-on case (very pretty looking) and fell on the concrete floor, developing random memory problems. At that point I wanted something that would stay on the Ipod firmly, be easy to remove and that would protect from those random jolts, bumps and falls.

The Contour case met the bill. It is easy to put on the Ipod, and easy to remove. I carry my Ipod, encased in its Contour case, in my pocket on my commute every day. Then at work I flip the case open and put the Ipod in the speaker stand. Reverse process in the evening. While I did have a Contour case latch give out on me after a year and half, the satisfaction I get from the product daily more than makes up for this failure.

The new case provides just as much access to the important bits - click wheel, earphone outlet, upload port - gives protection to the sides, and puts a plastic cover over the easily scratchable view screen. This newer one has clear plastic over the entire front and back, except for cut-out for the click wheel. This gives the case a more stylish appearance than the earlier version, but still offers the same protection.

So keep your Ipod pristine looking while giving its inner workings protection with a reasonably priced easily accesible case. This product is the best I have found to meet these standards, and I have surveyed alternatives for several years. Someone somewhere will build a better mousetrap - but this is it for right now.

5 out of 5 stars Good protection for a large investment   September 13, 2007

I buy one for all my iPods. It is good protection for the screen and the overall finish. As others have said, my only "complaint" (and it isn't too strong) is that the bottom needs to be a hinged cover to keep the input area cleaner.
