Product Description Bad memory can cause anything from annoying error messages to complete system failures. Why risk it with cheap "mystery" memory? When you buy memory from Crucial, you're buying the same high-quality memory that leading computer manufacturers install in the systems they sell. In fact, because Crucial is a division of Micron, one of the world's largest DRAM manufacturers, chances are good that you have their memory in your system right now. While the "other guys" might claim to manufacture memory, they really just assemble modules out of chips made by someone else. Some don't have first-class assembly procedures, and some even use chips that failed to meet computer manufacturer's stringent testing requirements. Crucial memory goes through much more rigorous testing procedures than many other brands of memory. Some memory assemblers choose to accept a certain "defect rate" because it's cheaper to deal with returns than to test every part they sell. That may help their bottom line, but it's sure a pain in the neck if you're one of the customers who ends up with a bad module. That's why Crucial thoroughly tests EVERY module they sell and put their name only on the ones that meet their strict standards. You might expect memory this good to cost a lot more, but you'd be wrong. As an online memory upgrade provider selling directly from the manufacturer, Crucial memory is often available at lower prices than lower-quality modules.

made my 3 years old comp faster July 14, 2008 Sean L. Yoo Lived up to my expectation. However they made a shipping mistake and i filed a compliant. Later i got a call from a neighbor who lives 2 blocks away. She told me i had a package. So that was fixed. But a week later i received another package from the crucial with the same product. SO IM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS. But i sent a email right after my neighbor found it. I guess they didn't take time to read the 2nd email.
It works fine January 1, 2008 Robert Owen (Minneapolis) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The memory arrived in a timely manner and was securely packaged. I replaced the 512MB of memory in my laptop with this 2GB and got markedly better performance. I experienced no problem installing this memory in my Inspiron 6000.
My Inspiron 6000 hasn't been the same since! December 31, 2007 D. Couse (United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
2GB for $49. Are you kidding me?? My Dell Inspiron 6000 shipped with a measly 512mb and it was really starting to bog down. Memory scrubbing programs couldn't release much memory as the laptop booted up with 80% memory already used...and the performance showed. Once this arrived in the mail, I just popped off the back panel, pulled out the old memory and inserted the 2 sticks. Replace cover, and viola! the computer recognized the upgrade without a problem. Now I'm running fast and clean with only 28% memory used at bootup. If you need memory for your Inspiron 6000, then look no further. I'm very glad I made this purchase and my laptop is too!
