Product Description If you use X10-enabled switches and controllers to turn your lights on and off and dim them remotely, adding this simple device to your setup will allow you to set up timed events easily. Using the 64-Event X10 Mini Timer, you'll be able to schedule up to eight lights to turn on and off automatically. Awaken to light in addition to sound each morning. Turn lights on automatically when you're due home from work so you won't need to arrive home to a dark house. You can even select the "security" mode, which turns lights on and off at different times each day to simulate an occupied home. X10 switches or plug-in modules are required for each light to be controlled and are sold separately. The 64-Event X10 Mini Timer controls up to eight X10 at the press of a button or when scheduled. Simply set all of the modules to be controlled to the same house code as the X10 Mini Timer and schedule individual on/off times for each. You can even connect an appliance module to your coffee pot and set it to turn on 30 minutes before you wake up for fresh-brewed coffee. Timed events can be set for daily use or once only. With a total of 64 on/off times available, you can schedule devices to turn on and off multiple times each day.

X10 makes my life easier July 5, 2008 George Berger (Pasadena, CA USA) I'm using the X10 programmable timer to automatically switch my solar array on and off to loads in the house. Certain loads are quite high, and must be switched on only at a certain time of day. With the X10 programmable controller, all this happens while I'm away at work. What a relief! This is how the X10 can be used to counter our oil dependency, and reduce global warming. In fact, just by switching unused DC adapters on and off automatically (like just before you get home from work), you can cut your electric bill. The only drawback I've encountered is that the way the timed events are programmed can be counterintuitive, thus only four stars out of five. It's important to press the clear button to erase an on or off time of the controlled load before programming a new one, and to press the on or off button several times during programming to make sure you didn't accidentally program an unwanted event. I like the fact that it keeps very accurate time, as well.
Home Automation At It's Best. March 17, 2007 K. Roland (Ridgewood, NJ) If you want to control your house lights from one location this is a must. No walking around to diffrent rooms to set up timers for while you are away. This Mini Timer and its companion lamp and appliance modules are easy to use and very reliable. Radio Shack used to make a unit like it which i had owned for 20 years. Shame on them for discontinuing that version. However, this X-10 unit is awsome and it's worth the money.
