some disappointment in this frame October 3, 2008 D. Anderson (Fort Worth, TX USA) I've used my digital frame for almost a year, and have been disappointed with some of my experiences with the frame. The biggest problem is that despite assurances from Kodak representatives that photos will displate in name order, they do not. I have not been able to determine any consistent way the frame displays photos -- not name, date, order placed on card, etc. There are also times that part way through a slide show, the frame just restarts from the beginning (or what it thinks is the beginning). Also, I bought it knowing about the 16:9 aspect ratio, which has been more of a problem than I suspected. There are many pictures with important part of the picture chopped off at the top and bottom unless shown in the "fit entire image" option, which leaves black bars on either side of the photo.
Great picture frame for the $ October 1, 2008 N. Devaney (SC United States) The SV-710 is a great picture frame for the money. I first gave one to my mother and she loves it. Unit has a timer to have it turn on and off at the same time every day automatically. I have since purchased 2 others. One for my home and one for the office to greet customers with pictures of our recent/past projects.
Nice little product September 30, 2008 T. Hurley (New York, NY USA) Very fine little picture frame, like the timer on/off, like the remote, like the slideshow. Don't like that you have to reset the clock/timer everytime you switch it off, little tricky to navigate without the remote (so don't lose it!). Great for standard 640x480 pics, but even better for shots taken in widescreen.
WiFi is subpar September 30, 2008 Skeet I like the picture frame but the WiFi doesn't work well. It works but not like they lead you to believe if you want to run pics directly from your computer. In that mode the scheduler doesn't work, the sorting or random play doesn't work(you will always see the oldest pictures first and follow in chronilogical order) and and frame will lock up often if it doesn't like a pic. Overall very poor firmware. Support said they are releasing an update soon, but who wants to wait and who knows if it will be better. So I returned it.
Can Most of the Reviews be Correct ? September 27, 2008 LotteryMan43 (Watertown,CT USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, before I purchased the Frame, I read as many reviews as I could. Still, I took a chance. I wanted to use it for both Videos and Photographs. Now, most of the Reviewers are on the money on this one. It depends on how you're going to use the Frame and if you're lucky enough to have the correct Video format on your camera/recording device. PHOTOGRAPHS: 1. Does a great job of Displaying, Fading, Zooming, Pausing, and allowing control of your "Stills". 2. The Display Quality is Excellent. VIDEOS: Here's the rub, as follows: 1. Some AVI and some MOV will play. Mostly those taken with a digital camera will work, but not always. I tried some from a top Olympus camera, and they played out of sync with the audio and video. 2. If you perform any Editing on your Videos, they usually will not play. 3. If you converted from one Format to another, such as WMV to MOV or AVI, they will not play. 4. I tried two Webcams, and those videos, in correct format or converted, would not play. 5. Kodak Support told me that unedited MOV and AVI MPEG4 and MJPEG taken with a Digital Camera would play, if used with Audio G.711. However, this was NOT always the case. Audio Only: 1. I did not try any Audio only insertions. CONCLUSION: 5 Stars for Photographs and 1 Star for Videos = 3 Stars Overall.
