In contrast to most other laptop coolers that use two fans to suck warm air from the laptop's bottom, the Belkin's Laptop Cooling Stand relies on the natural flow of heat and air circulation to do the hard work and needs only one fan to do the trick. Instead of drawing the laptop heat down to push it out, the stand takes full advantage of natural air flow and heat's natural tendency to rise by pushing the hot air upward through the channel and away from your laptop. The single high-capacity fan, powered by a USB port on your laptop, sits in the middle of the cooling stand, and hot air is channeled out to the left and right sides of your laptop. My laptop is older, and had a problem with getting really hot. I also like working on it while its angled. This product was a great purchase. It keeps the laptop cool, not very loud, and angles it for easy working. It does run on a USB connection to the laptop, which can be a downside, but it is not something that bothers me. It as a nifty place to store the power cord in the stand, it is not a very long cord, but that was not an issue for me.

bought this product from a local retailer after looking at several others which suck air away from the laptop(usually flat pads). noticed the curviture on it and the fact that it blows air. great design. the power port where the usb plug attaches has popped out a few times and the fan did stop. this was due to me accidently yanking it out and the plug coming loose. all i did was simply unscrew the 9 phillips screws on the bottom and place the plug port back in its slot. the fan stopped when my shorts got caught in it while on my lap. all in all, this is a very simple yet effective pad. with a little know how of tools and how things gennerally work this fan should never have to be sent in for a repair. its 2 pieces of plastic with a fan sitting in the middle. easy to maintain and repair if neccassary.

I liked the look of this cooler because it left space between my laptop and the fan. It worked great at first but after about 6 months, the fan kept on cutting out. I took it apart and figured out part of the problem was the connection at the back of the cooling but even after re-gluing this piece in place, the connection still hasn't been right since. I have to constantly move the cord to get a good link so that the fan continues to work.

Before I got this product, my laptop used to get so hot that my hands would start to get warm, uncomfortably so sometimes. Ever since I bought this, my computer does not get hot at all! The computer isn't even warm to the touch. I love the fact that the fans blow cool air into the fans, rather than trying to suck the hot air from the fans. I was skeptical about this product after reading some of the reviews, but it was the cheapest one I could find, so I decided to take a chance with it. I've not had any problems with it so far, it works great, and I've had this product for about 2 months now. Highly recommended!!
