Product Description Intel Turbo Memory lets your notebook actually learn your habits to provide better system response. That's because it stores frequently used information near the processor, where it's more quickly available. CPUs run better with Intel Turbo Memory.Intel Turbo Memory is a primary PC component, along with the CPU, chipset, and system memory. It caches large amounts of frequently used data for faster access by the processor. This decreases the need for hard-disk accesses, saving both time and power, which equates to increased performance and energy efficiency. That's good news for users who run data-intensive software like media applications. It's also a good match to the substantial system requirements to load and run Windows Vista.Intel Turbo Memory is a single solution that accelerates data transfer both to and from the processor.

Turbo Memory is Turbo Great June 1, 2008 R. Lee Fitch (Efland NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this is a great thing to have. It does speed up the startup time and adds a bit more space to my loaded computer.
Helpful May 14, 2008 Alemaker (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Intel Turbo Memory chip did help in opening programs that I use often. The most noticeable difference is that, before I installed this chip, Microsoft Office 2007 opened slower. With the addition of this chip, it opens quicker. It definetly helps loading programs faster. Price is extremely reasonable also.
Is it working? February 22, 2008 Trembler (D.C., USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just installed today, did not notice any benefit. Works only with Windows Vista in an E-PCI slot. No noticeable improvement, no increase in Experience score either. Have not run any benchmarks yet.
System does not boot up faster February 15, 2008 Hirakawa 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product does not make your system boot up faster but it will help you to speed up a little bit during your system recover from hibernate. The only best thing about this product is that it reduce the need to access the HDD significantly (Maybe able to expand HDD life span and save some power?).
Worth it? Maybe. December 2, 2007 Jon Solo (Charleston, SC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For about the price of a nice dinner by yourself, you can obtain this card. Caching is nothing new to computers and the idea of having a separate 1gb cache seems like a great idea. To use this item you have to have a computer equipped with the Turbo Cache card slot. I have an Inspiron 1720 and this is found right next to my WIFI card slot. The advantage of having that is that you do not have to occupy a USB port or SD card slot to benefit from the caching. I also imagine that this slot is hard wired to the computer using a whole separate buss making it faster. But question is does it do what it promises. It does to some degree. I do see a small decrease in boot times. Also the programs that I use daily do load and perform much faster. I cannot say that I am saving battery power because of less disk access, but that is really a hard call since I recharge my laptop every night. Ultimately, this is a feel good item for the most part. If you have an empty slot in your laptop, fill it. If you are looking for a massive performance boost, it would be better to consider upgrading the 5400 rpm hard drive to a 7200 rpm drive. Or if you are still floating in the 1gb RAM or less club, consider going to 2gb in Vista. Those are the real icing on the cake. This is just the little flower decoration that makes it look a little more appetizing.
