Not worth the money. December 5, 2008 J. Coombs (Lake Tahoe, NV) Sorry, but with HDMI there's no possible way to justify a cable that costs this much.
Stinks December 5, 2008 Marcus Ramsey (Irving, Texas United States) Bought it to try versus one of the $5 ones on Amazon, it actually had problems with my Verizon FiOS box. Stinks!
Overpriced December 5, 2008 Justin M. Crothers (Dallas, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Are you kidding? One hundred thirty dollars for a friggin' HDMI cable? Whoever bought this is a fool among fools.
Poor value for the money December 5, 2008 Uncle Erik (Manhattan Beach, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A friend of mine was sold this cable along with a hi-def LCD screen at a major electronics retailer. The salesman pitched it as a worthwhile upgrade and he bit. Some background: I have an amateur radio license and build, repair and restore electronics as a hobby. I have a bench of test equipment for troubleshooting and testing new builds. So my friend brought it over to see if this cable measured any differently from another cable he has that cost under $10. We fed a few signals through each and viewed them on an oscilloscope. There was no difference between the cables. Informal tests swapping the cables in and out did not reveal a difference, either. Fortunately, my friend was able to return the cable for a full credit. He is now happily using a cable that cost less than one tenth the price and enjoying his new TV. Don't buy cable snake oil. If you're tempted by this cable, buy a cheap one first. Cheap cables are only a few dollars, so you're not risking anything. If a cheap cable works fine, that's all you need to buy. Also, if you're not familiar with the markups and bonuses Monster gives for selling their cables, run a few searches on the Internet. The price margins and sales commissions are eye opening, to say the least.
As everyone knows... December 5, 2008 N. Jones 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
As everyone knows, this is totally unnecessary. It works, and the rubber wire cover is high quality. Other than that, totally not worth it.
