A tech guy told me to spend a few more dollars and not get a generic replacement but I went online and saw the actual HP one would take 6-8 days to get to me and this one from Amazon, 2 tops (the HP one was also like $15 more with shipping). So, being both lazy and frugal, I bought this one at the end of May. It died by the end of July--about 58 days later. I guess the Best Buy guy was right.

This unit was obtained to replace a genuine HP power adapter who fails after 3 months of use. I hope this one makes the job for a much, much more time than the original. One Technician explain me about this kind of damage, about use voltage outside USA. Maybe I can update this review in 6 months later. Today I work well with my laptop and it's charged battery.
