Product Description When Altec Lansing introduced the original inMotion, it set new standards for sound and size and let a whole lot of music out of the iPod. Now Altec Lansing raises the bar again with an innovative and performance-leading new model. The Altec Lansing iM600 sound system offers stereo sound from dual 2-inch neodymium drivers optimized for high-frequency extension (better highs, in other words). It offers more power and output than any other system in its class and, what s more, it features another Altec Lansing engineering innovation called the Stereo Field Expander: SFX for short. SFX makes the speakers sound further apart than they really are, giving the user a heightened stereo effect. The iM600 also features a stereo FM radio and can double as a clock radio when plugged in to an electrical outlet (AC adapter included). It includes rechargeable Li-ion batteries and a wireless remote. And it syncs and charges all dockable iPod models. Whether on the go or on your desk or tabletop, the iM600 resets the expectations for features and performance in a sound solution for the iPod.

Not Just for ipods July 26, 2008 Brian D. Griswold (Pompano Beach, FL United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this for a Sansa view--and I'm glad I did. The sound is remarkable. It's light weight and easily portable. The FM tuner works quite well. The remote is a great feature, especially once I worked up the nerve to remove the film over the face of the remote (it impeded switch action a little). The rechargeable battery--what a great feature. It seems to last at least as long as Altec-Lansing says it does. While not heavy on bass, it is there... with the custom EQ on the Sansa you can punch it up a bit. High end response is terrific. Vocals clear but not brassy. Sounds especially sweet when my computer's audio is run through it. I highly recommend it.
Nice Ipod Player/ Stereo Aux Player / Radio July 7, 2008 Ryan P. Nugent (Liverpool, NY United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great buy. The rechargeable Li-Ion battery is one of the best features. This thing folds up when not in use and its not very big to begin with, making very portable. Only gripes are the remote doesn't appear to have menu and selection capabilty for the Ipod, just play-pause-forward-back, and the folding pieces should lock open as well as closed because you don't make them partially closing when the Ipod is docked, as that can unseat the Ipod, or possibly damage the Ipod or player. It has good sound and doesn't distort with loud volume. All in all, I think this radio is the best one of it's kind. CNet rated it so as well. I have an Ipod dock in my living room surround sound shelf system that I use to use before I got this, now this gets used much more.
