Product Description The guide number is 328 as per the model designation. It bounces, zooms and swivels. The flash comes complete with a bracket. This unit is compatible with all digital cameras with either built-in flash capability or not. It has a hot shoe so that it can be fired from the camera too. It is fully synchronized with fill-in flash and red-eye reduction flash and can be used with virtually all of the digital cameras on the market. It works as a slave. It can be set for a single flash camera or a pre-flash camera, or, it can detect which setting is best. -- Off-camera flash" refers to setups where the flash is not directly attached to the camera's hot-shoe. The benefits of such a setup is that the lens-flash distance can be greater, and thus more natural look can be achieved, the probability of "red eyes" is reduced, and more than one flash units can be used. In this document I will briefly cover three of the most common methods for operating flash units off-camera. -- Ordinary flash units will not work because your digital camera lacks a way to connect and/or mount an external flash. Even more importantly, most digital cameras emit a "pre- flash? and/or a ?red-eye? pulse that fire before the shutter opens, then an additional flash pulse is fired to actually light your picture. This "pre-flash? ("double-flash?) and/or "red-eye? pulse confuses other flash and slave units , causing them to go off at the wrong time, and are useless for your digital camera. -- The Slave Flash has special digital pulse counting slave circuitry that is not fooled by the "pre-flash? and eliminates the need for an electrical connection to your camera. A three-position switch sets the flash to ignore one or two "pre-flashes?, or none at all. -- Package Contents -- Digital Slave Flash -- Mounting Bracket With Accessory Hot Shoe -- Operating Instructions -- Mini Tripod -- One-Year USA Warranty from Pheonix Worldwide -- BRAND NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX AND FULLY SEALED

if you are going to use it with an umbrella bouncer don't buy it! October 22, 2008 Vartan Esenyan (Brooklyn NY) I did not pay attention to its specs and I bought this flash relying on some exaggerated headlines on amazone therefore I am kicking myself the only thing useful for me to use in this kit was the tripod and the extension bar this flash is only 28 guide number at 50mm it is useless for even in small room settings. Buy a vivitar 285hv instead and although it costs double it will shoot to 70 feet this flash has a stupid automatic light sensor I was able to get full output of it finally when I taped over its eye sensor using my camera in manual mode
flimsy construction August 29, 2008 J. C. Douglas (Tennessee) Although it appears sturdy, this slave unit is of flimsy construction and does not hold up well in field conditions. The flash is fairly sensitive, and the output is ok, but it will fall apart if dropped.
Pro Flashes for a steal May 1, 2008 B. S. Follmer (Seattle, WA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
These flashes are worth every penny! I am just a intermediate photographer, though I see the immense difference these flashes make! I have a Canon A570 IS and two of these flashes and they make the photos look very professional! They even work in daylight. Recharge time is quick too. I would recommend these to anyone! Bracket it comes with is so so. The mini tripod is cool. Tilt & swivel features allow you to "bounce" the light off of ceilings and walls. We used them for cool lighting effects from behind and side. A must have for great photos! And you don't need to break the bank doing so!
