Product Description Film, as well as video, often exhibits a greater sensitivity to what is to us invisible, ultraviolet light. This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes. It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Ultraviolet filters absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region. It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles, such as smog. The latter is made up of opaque matter that absorbs visible light as well as UV, and will not be appreciably removed by a UV filter. The UV Protector shields lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage.
Amazon.com Product Description Protects lenses from dust, moisture, scratches, and other damage. These filters can be kept on the camera at all times.

Great for the Price November 18, 2008 T. Swanson (Texas) For 70$ or so you get three 77mm NEW Name Brand Lenses. Great buy for the money. They shoot clear pics.
Two filters don't fit the Canon 24-105 L Series November 16, 2008 B. Liu (NY, NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The UV and Color filters touch the glass of the lens when screwed onto the lens. Beware that these filters DO NOT fit the Canon 24-105 Lens. I have yet to buy new filters, but I suspect the only ones that will fit are the Canon brand filters.
Good filter for the price October 24, 2008 R. Pena (Southern California) I have several of these filters. They are good filters, but in time (several years), they can get tiny scratches if I'm not careful. The little ring that holds the glass to the metal ring has come loose on occasion, but I just tighten it and the problem goes away for several months. Keep in mind that I'm a professional photojournalist and I use my gear heavily (daily). I keep coming back to this filter because I keep buying new lenses. It works great in fog and dust. It works so well, that when I'm in a situation that I NEED to show the fog or dust, I must take the filter off because the filter cuts through so well. I would also recommend the Skylight filter too.
I liked the Polarizer, Works great October 19, 2008 Richard E. Zwiesler (Downers Grove, IL) After reading good and bad reviews, I decided to order a set on a gamble I guess. Well, I took some Fall pictures with the polarizer and am happy with the results. My copy seems to be fairly tight and easy to adjust. I use this filter with my Tamron AF 17-35mm F/2.8-4 lens and have no problems that others have mentioned. I do Wish I could have purchased the Polarizer seperate as I hardly use a UV Haze filter. Haven't used any filter for lens protection for 30 years, and all my lenses are in perfect condition. I kinda like the haze in some landscapes. I may attach one when taking very long shots to cut through some of the haze. Again, if you need a 77mm Polarizer, this one will fill your needs and it's rather inexpensive.
Well the product is Cheap October 14, 2008 Sharath Kumar (MN) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We all know 77mm filter sizes are standard for the pro lenses and this one is a total misfit for such lenses. The filter screws in but the glass on it keeps dangling and makes clinging noises as if the glass is about to fall off, don't get fooled by the price like me, don't buy this product!
