Amazon.com Product Description If you're looking for a single device that prints, faxes, copies, and scans, the HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, and Copier is your answer. The printer has a built-in 2.4-inch display you can use to easily print photos without a PC: Simply put your memory card into the memory card slot (compatible with Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, xD-Picture Card), preview it on the display, and print. Enhancing your photos and removing red eye is as simple as pushing the HP Red-eye Removal button. The HP Photosmart C7280 produces lab-quality, fade-resistant photo prints by using a six-ink color system for accurate color reproduction. Photos will always print on the correct side of the paper with the right quality settings because of HP Auto Sense technology. And coupled with HP Advanced Photo Paper, the C6280 is sure to produce photos that are smudge and smear-resistant right from the printer. Print speed is outstanding as well, at up to 34 ppm black and 33 ppm color. For those looking to save paper, an included duplexer lets you print on both sides of the paper. Sharing the printer with everyone on your network is simple with both built-in wireless and Ethernet connectivity. The fax functionality is performed by a 33.6 Kbps modem at speeds up to three seconds per page. The built-in memory can hold up to 90 pages and the fax is capable of color faxing, delayed sending, and auto-redialing with a maximum of 48 broadcasting locations. The scanner uses a Contact Image Scanner (CIS) for scans at up to 4800 dpi optical resolution with a scan size of up to 8.6 by 11.7 inches. The copier supports pages up to this size as well and you can make up to 50 copies in one pass. Color copies are supported and there are settings for enlarging and reducing from 50 to 400 percent. Easy to set up and easy to use. October 11, 2008 Patrick Lee I have just installed the printer and it was very easy to read instructions and easy to follow installation disk. This printer has lots of functionality. I have a Vista machine and a Mac G5 Main pro points - 1. Wireless 2. Photo printing w/memory card reader 3. Sheet feeder Main con points - 1. holds about 50 sheets of paper 2. cost per photo printing can be expensive (but how many are you really going to do?) If you don't need wireless or photo printing I'm sure there are better options for you but it's nice having both.
HP C7280 PHOTOSMART ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER October 9, 2008 Werner J. Dornacker (Franklin, WI USA) This is an excellent choice for an easy to use home printer. Easy to set up and easy to learn how to use.
Photosmart C7280: Expensive Piece of Garbage...do not buy October 1, 2008 Bill from Baton Rouge (Baton Rouge, LA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Unit worked great as a fax machine...for the first 2 days then stopped auto answering the line. It could see the call, the caller ID and could receive the fax if you told it to manually by pressing the Start Fax button, but with the unit set to autoanswer on 2 rings it simply would not pick up. Customer service (via email) was a joke...they could not even get the model number right using their support form that clearly sets the model number. Then, in Quickbooks Pro 2008 when printing checks the unit tries to use the photo paper tray regardless of how you set the print job up in HP's print properties dialog. Bottom line folks...buy anything else but the all-in-one peice of bovine .....
Don't Buy This Device October 1, 2008 Jason C. Weaver (Austin, tx United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unfortunately, I'll have to join the crowd that is very displeased with this device. * It's very slow at printing. * It's PC software really drags my PC down, primarily after a reboot. * Tech support is absolutely terrible. * And, of all things, it won't save scans as PDF files. (Apparently, HP software does not work with the latest version of Adobe (8x or 9x) and therefore can't save PDF files.) It's definitely a sad excuse for the previously high quality devices HP is known for. I really wish I could send mine back for a refund. It has been nothing but a disappointment and a bother since I bought it.
The worst HP I've ever used September 27, 2008 D. Patterson (Northfield, MN United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This printer has all the nice functions one would expect in a printer of this type. However, that is all I can say from a positive perspective. Our first unit arrived nearly a year ago. It kept freezing up spontaneously, mid-fax, mid-copy, middle of the night, anytime. After six months, it was becoming unbearable, so after MUCH tech support phone time, HP finally replaced it with a REFURBISHED model. What a mistake! This one, the ink levels don't work at all, the paper jams contantly, the fax outgoing function freezes all the time, I could go on and on. After 11 months, unending hours of tech support, and endless frustrations, I'm on Amazon looking for a better model. Don't buy this printer, you can do better. We also have a 3200 model (no fax), and it is a pleasure. Keep shopping.
