Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Many people enjoy mounting flat-panel TV units directly on the wall. The Omnimount Tria gives you the ability to mount 3 supporting components for your home-theater system directly beneath your mounted TV or adjacent to a DLP or tabletop TV. Each shelf holds up to 30 pounds (13.6kg) Does not include TV mount

5 out of 5 stars Up dateing is easy   October 4, 2008
Roger A. Drake (Portsmouth, Ohio)
Our old TV went out on us. My wife and I decided to start up grading our home theater system, we started with a 42" plasma screen TV, a full motion wall mount and the OmniMount TRIA shelves. Now the entertainment center is gone and everything is on the wall.
The directions are a little confusing and some instructions are missing. Once you figure the installation out it's a breeze. One tip is secure all of your wires and have them placed were you want them before attempting to snap on the covers. I used the small zip ties to cut down on the space behind the covers. I had take the covers off several times before I got the wires were I wanted them. All in all it's a great product and it cleared up a lot of floor space for our toddler to play. She also can't find the wires to pull the components off the shelves.

The product is pretty much as described, it assembeled easily. But the
Wire management was not thought through by the designer. I had to hide
The wires in the wall. The final result is perfect, they just need to
Explain that unless you only have two tiny wires, you will have to find somewhere
Else to hide the wires. I also bought a single tria shelf and combined them to make a 4 shelf system.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price   September 8, 2008

I think the end result looks pretty good. The instructions for how to put it together were horrible, so you basically have to just look at the pics and figure it out on your own. Then there was a broken plastic part; one of the black pieces that go down the middle. The shipping for it was so horrible and i'm sure thats why it came with the broken (crushed) piece. They sent it in a super huge box, with only some paper to keep the box inside (with the actual unit), from rolling all around. But all in all, for the price i paid, i can't complain. And when i called for a replacement part, i had it in a week. Looks good and keeps everything looking clean and neat.

4 out of 5 stars Great, but a little difficult with a lot of cords.   August 19, 2008

This actually works great for us. Even with a bunch of cords. We mounted a power strip behind our TV (one cord going down) then have a DVD player, Dirctv box, WII, Playstation 3,and a charger for the WII remotes. So thats 5 power cords going up towards the tv, AV cords for the WII,3 HDMI cables and 2 cable cords for the directv. It was a lot of work getting those cords up and placed and still being able to put the slats on to cover them. For anyone getting this mount, I suggest evening out the cords so you have the same amount on each side, then bundling them together (we used that blue painters tape). That way when you place the slats you can keep them all together. We just bundled them ever couple of inches where it would be hidden by the slats. Have someone help you when you put the slats on, so that you have an extra pair of hands holding the cords in place while you put on the slats. And dont get your cords tangled up, it sucks to do that and have to start over.

4 out of 5 stars Looks great & easy to install   August 12, 2008

I needed something to get my electronics out of the reach of my toddler. This unit mounted easily to the wall next to my TV. Mounts right to a stud so holds very securely. Shelves have a gloss side and a matte side and everything seems to be designed and constructed very well. As others have said, wire covers are a bit tricky. Enough room for my wires but hard to get them tucked in and then snap the covers on.

My only compaint is that two products that OmniMount sells that are designed to be used together...don't match! Since the wires don't magically go away after you tuck them in, some hang out the bottom, I needed something too hide those wires too. Specifically the HDMI cable that goes to my TV and ALL of the power cords. OmniMount has a separate "Wall Cable Management Kit - Model CMK" that matches the wire cover pieces of this shelf system except for one little thing...it's a different color!! The TRIA is mostly charcoal grey with a bit of silver sparkle. The CMK only comes in white with a rough texture designed to be paintable. I even went to Sherwin-Williams to see if they could match it but no luck. I ended up painting the bottom section of the TRIA's cable covers and all of the CMK pieces black and it all looks good. The CMK has a 90 elbow and three straight sections. This allowed me to turn at the bottom of the TRIA and run the rest of the wires out of sight behind my TV.
