THE ROLLING STONES `Shine A Light' is the soundtrack to director MARTIN SCORSESE'S film of the same name, which documents The Rolling Stones' performances at New York's Beacon Theatre on October 29 and November 1, 2006. With special guests BUDDY GUY, White Stripes' JACK WHITE III and CHRISTINA AGUILERA joining the Stones onstage, the Oscar-winning director captures an extraordinary performance from the band.

DELUXE VERSION - 2 disc set, featuring 22 tracks with expanded packaging. Includes every track from the film, plus four bonus tracks from the shows that were not included in the film- "Paint It Black", "Little T&A", "Shine A Light" and "I'm Free"

4 out of 5 stars Stones rules!!!   September 30, 2008
Romulo Dominguez (Barquisimeto, Lara Venezuela)
Honestly I didn't expect another live album from the stones. Thanks I was wrong!. The Stones really rocks on the small venues like Beacon Teathre. There are some jewels like:

- She was Hot: first time they include it on a live album.
- Some girls section (Faraway Eyes, Just My Imagination, Some Girls, Shatteres).
- As Tears Go By. what a beauty!!!

The low points to me are:

- Little T&A. I love that song, but what a shame with this version
- Sympathy For The Devil: I don't know but I feel something missing on it!

1 out of 5 stars Old and tired   September 8, 2008

I really was looking forward to listening to this album, having spent most of my life a fan. I bought sticky fingers when it came out and pretty much everything else since. Boy was I disappointed with this one. I've seen them live, so I know the tempos are different live ... but crikey ... they rush through some of these songs as if they're late for something important. Mick's voice is poor ... really, I couldn't listen to the album all the way through and tried several times. Buy something else if you don't ave everything else yet.

1 out of 5 stars Shine a Light is Pretty Dim   August 31, 2008

Die hard fans of the Stones will be disappointed with this CD. It is comprised of clips of weathered looking Stones interspersed with some abbreviated interviews. The overall affect was was boring. The only redeeming points were the duet with Christina Aguilera and Bill Clinton introducing and hugging the band members. Mick never looked so bad, but he can still move.
If there was a point that Sorcese was trying to make, I missed it.
I'm sorry I bought into all the presale hype. It wasn't worth it for me.

Grandson just entered the US Air Force and isn't allowed much in the way of personal belongings. He IS allowed his treasured Stones music and was excited to receive Shine A Light from his Nana. Thanks

3 out of 5 stars A little disapointed   July 30, 2008

Is a great record ! No Rolling Stones record could be different! However, I felt a little disapointed when I listen to it because it lacks the force that we normally expect to hear on a live rolling stones record. Mick Jagger voice is very weak, probably because of age, probably it was not his best moment, I can't tell. And the rest of the band also in my opinion sound weak. But if you are a RS fan, you should have it !
