Commodores Live! was recorded by The Commodores at George Mason University's magnificent "Center for the Arts" Concert Hall. The album features many exciting and exceptional soloists and charts from within the band. In addition, former Commodores' saxophonist MUC Scott Silbert also contributed some of his own music to this live collection. Master Chief Musician Leland V. Gause leads the Commodores, the jazz ensemble of the United States Navy Band, on this album. Commodores Live! contains eleven different tracks including "Prelude to a Kiss", "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" and "Dream Traveler". Composers on the album feature many jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Arthur Hamilton and Mack Gordon. Each wonderfully moving piece is played with great attention to detail, bringing to life the sounds of jazz. Commodores Live! was recorded with the intention of providing the listener with the sounds and music that would be typical of a Commodores live performance.
