Sugarland Run is a fantastic album containing outstanding performances by the talented musicians of The United States Navy Band's Country Current ensemble. Country Current, a country-bluegrass group, is the Navy's premier country music ensemble. Commander Ned Muffley formed the seven-member group in 1973 under the leadership of legendary banjo player Bill Emerson. Over the years, Country Current has established themselves in all aspects of country and bluegrass music. Sugarland Run seeks to preserve some of America's favorite country and bluegrass hits, including songs like "Hey Good Lookin'", "Rocky Top" and "Sweet Baby James". The extraordinary talents of the members of Country Current are evident throughout this album and continue to set the standard for the group even today. The outstanding musicianship and quality of music on Sugarland Run are characteristic of Country Current and The United States Navy Band.
