INSANE picture August 20, 2008

I've been waiting for years for the right technology & price. I had to pull the trigger as the Olympics are here. I'm so glad I did. It's like having a front row seat at the events. If I could hold off for another year or 2 I would have as there will be newer technology coming out soon. However, I could not stand having a large built in entertainment center with a small 27" tube tv anymore. I figure I'll just move this tv to another room, and buy a newer tv for the entertainment room when the time comes. The picture is insane! For me, I'm willing to deal with the glare issue. I simply keep the windows in front of the tv covered, and adjust the back lighting. At night there's no problem at all. A non issue for me. The advantage of this glossy screen is a sharper/deeper picture. I much prefer this screen over a matte screen. Matte just doesn't do it for me. Otherwise, everything else is fantastic or minor issues. If you must buy a tv now, THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY!

After much research, we purchased this TV and have been thrilled with its appearance, performance, and price. We did extensive research online and in multiple stores before selecting this LCD TV. I was actually between this LCD and a 50" Samsung Plasma but decided this one to be the better solution for our needs. We were leary of purchasing it online, but we couldn't be happier with our decision.
Our family room is in a medium-lit room with a fair amount of light. Yet, the glare issue hasn't been that noticeable during the day. Viewing angle is great as we have seats off to the side of the screen as well. At night, the colors and deep blacks are phenomenal as well. Definitely can tell the difference between standard cable and HD quality feeds, but this is common to all HD sets I've seen. Still, the standard cable feed isn't that bad. The 120Hz processor does well too and provided remarkable clarity when we watched Pirates of the Caribean 3 last week. Finally, the speakers and the XTSurround capability delivered quality audio until we hooked it up to our home theater system.
Amazon had the best price and with free shipping, I still haven't seen a sales ad for this TV within $300 of what we paid for it (before taxes). The white glove delivery was professional and quick. The installer even went above and beyond to make sure the cable feed worked. Excellent quality service!
Watching the Olympics has been awesome with this TV! Samsung and Amazon delivered for us and I highly recommend both!

I purchased this TV after looking at the rave reviews.I am very much happy with the TV. I am enjoying the Olympics in HD and the picture quality is great. My friends who owned expensive Tv's than this like Sony Bravia XBR and Pioneer also gave good applause. Also Amazon is the best place to buy this TV and the delivery is within 5 days of placing the order.

This is a fabulous TV. I spent over a year trying to decide which one to buy, and used the reviews of Amazon customers to make my decision. This TV is everything it is touted to be. It has a great picture, easy set-up, and I don't have any problems with the remote. The slight touch of red on the bezel actually compliments the sofa, but if you have something different, I don't think it would make a difference. There are plenty of inputs for DVD, game stations, etc., and they are easy to reach. I only have 2 things to comment on regarding this purchase. One is minor, but the 2nd is a great warning to others.
The minor one. I purchased a smaller Samsung earlier with the free "White Glove Delivery". I received it a little late in the afternoon, but the delivery person was kind, and set it up, programmed it to make sure it would work properly, gave instructions, and removed the box. This time, the person removed the TV from the box, and assisted boyfriend to put it up and plug it in. However, he gave no assistance for programming, and told us we needed to keep the box for 30 days. It is not a big deal, and since I didn't pay extra for delivery, I can't really complain. They did deliver ahead of schedule, but if you have used this service before, it is dependent on the delivery person.
My 2nd thing is the most important thing for anyone who is purchasing a LCD TV and planning on changing from the stand to a mount. Because of the configuration, we needed to remove the stand and attach the TV to an articulating wall mount. (There is a fabulous one available on Amazon for only $154.90 - much less than everyone else) After completing the construction needed, everything went well, until the mount needed to be attached to the TV. MAKE SURE, WHEN YOU ATTACH A MOUNT TO THE TV, YOU LAY IT ON A SOFT SURFACE. Boyfriend laid it on a clean glass coffee table, but it put a small (and I mean really small) nick in the screen, which has ruined the TV. It is frustrating, of course not covered by warranty, and when we talked to the local repair people, they told us that we were looking at $1400.00 to fix it. Simply not worth it.
So, if you are looking for a fabulous 46" LCD TV, I totally recommend this product. I have grown to love Samsung products, and this one won't disappoint you. Just don't make the same mistake I did, and have to buy it again. Take care if you decide to change it from the stand to a mount - the screen is everything. But you will not be sorry with this purchase, and, luckily, it is even cheaper right now to buy it from Amazon.

Product and delivery was excellent!!!!! Delivery/Setup with 5 business days of purchase. Saved over $700 compared to retail price. Sharp picture and will recommend to anyone considering this television unit.
