Why spend the money for Monster Cables August 4, 2008 Stebby (Aurora, Colorado) The Velocity HDMI cable was kind of an after thought but turned out to be a good choice. I have a Monster HDMI cable that cost me more than $100. I see no discernable difference between the two.
Great Product And Very Inexpensive August 2, 2008 wy4j (Miami, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just purchased a couple of these cables and gave my friend one as a gift. Being an electronics novice, he purchased a new HDTV and the salesperson convinced him that he needed to pay $118.00 for a similar HDMI cable. I explained to him that he was getting royally ripped off and made him an offer he could not refuse (free cable). He promptly returned the cable and asked for his $118.00 back. I just cannot believe how all of these major electronic retailers get away with ripping off most consumers with these so called special or better cables. At the length that all consumer electronics cables are utilized, there is absolutely no loss, I repeat "NO LOSS" or differences whether you use a $100 cable or a $5 cable. It's all foam just to make the cable look thicker and meaner and great marketing strategies in the part of both the manufacturer and the retailer. And don't go for the gold or silver plating. This is just a sales pitch. Copper is pretty much the standard conductor for all commercial cables but you don't see them hawking copper up. Now platinum, gold or silver make for a better sales pitch for those who don't know an absolute thing about electronics.
No Probs!! August 1, 2008 Jack (NW Indiana, USA) I'm using these for my PS3 to my new HDTV...and the picture and sound are both amazing for PS3 games, and Blu Ray discs. Don't waste your money on HDMI cables that cost outrageous amounts, buy these and be happy. These were recommended by a friend who bought the exact same ones, and we're both extremely happy with the quality.
Buy this and save your money. July 30, 2008 R. Gallagher I did a lot of research before getting into HDTV, Blu-ray (PS3), and cable technology. The experts say you are just spending too much if you buy the large name cables with $50+ pricetags. I bought this to connect my PS3, and there is no difference between this economic cable and the $40 brand I bought in the store. I wish I would have bought 2 of these instead!
HDMI Cable July 29, 2008 Evan DeBloois (North Ogden, Utah United States) After paying the "cable guy" $30 for a HDMI cable for my plasma TV, I opted for one at half that price to connect my DVD player. Great product at a much more reasonable price.
