Flip video camera August 17, 2008 Kathryn Brunken I purchased this product last month and it is a very handy Video camera to carry with you most every where you go. Easy to use and makes good pictures. I recommend it to anyone needing something light to carry around. Kathryn Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (White)
Great hardware, lousy software August 17, 2008 R. Simpson (Romney, WV USA) I bought this before a vacation trip to Atlanta. I especially wanted video of the fish in their great aquarium. When I got it, I wasted a lot of time trying to make it work after just looking at the little card, which is the only printed documentation they provide. Bad idea. Plug it into your PC and go through the Help files. The pictures are fine. The main problem is that it is so small it is hard to aim it steadily and properly. The display washes out in sunlight, so I ended up zooming out and just pointing it in the direction of my target. The software is very not-intuitive. Again, read the Help files. The editing program is totally crippled, to force you to buy the version that should have come with the camera in the first place. And if your PC is not of recent vintage, all the processing takes a looooong time.
cool little gadget August 15, 2008 blkswife (Los Angeles) I really like this camera, it was really easy to use and download the videos to my computer. Although when I tried to download it to my MAC, the sound was gone, still can't figure out how to get it. I also wish it took still pictures.
Flip video August 14, 2008 Ronald E. Isaacs I like this item very much but the down load time takes too long to use as much as I would like
Great little portable cam for mac or pc August 14, 2008 Kenneth Bunderham III (Texas) I'm using the Ultra. I've only used it a couple of times but it's very handy, portable, boots quickly. It seems to work just fine with my mac and most of the pcs I've used - the only exception being an older dell, but I suspect it was the computer not the flip. There is a bit of noise on deep blacks and very dark navy blue, but it's not really designed to rival a 3chip or anything. Definitely worth the price! It would be really cool if it would stream real-time and could be used as a webcam...maybe it can and I just haven't tried hard enough. I work with a bunch of real estate agents and this thing has generated a lot of interest and I think I've sold at least a half dozen of them on the flip; then those agents sell the other agents on it! I guess this would have had more impact as a video done from the flip...oh well.
